Well what he didn't mention is that one of them is chair of the Palastinane society at University, whose name is on the website, and it was shortly after the British sucide bombers. But that said I don't know if *I* would have realised that it would have been foolish.
MR I'm sorry about the heart mumur, I hope things are ok with you..

I just reason with my computer. But then it is a Mac.
I was held under house arrest in Elba! *puts right arm into the front of her jacket* Able was I ere I saw Elba.

I was stopped by the authorities a few times as a teenager and pulled over for speeding three years ago (50 in a 35mph zone).
Did I read that right, Marv? You bleed on your computer?!

Z -- as I understand it (stop me if I have this wrong) the "elegant solution" you mentioned is exactly what the recent Supreme Court ruling does away with. Most libraries where I live have filters on the kid's section computers, and not on the main computers. The federal legislation that just got upheld means they have to have the filters on all computers. And the important issue for libraries is that the filters the gov wants to use filter for certain words or phrases. There's actually a library in the U.S. who's name has the last name "Butt" in it. If you try to access the library's page with these filters on, you *can't*. "Butt" isn't allowed.
dd -- long time no see yourself. You actually arived on the very day that I posted a question in my journal regarding web hosting. And you say webdesign is now your job? If you or anyone else here at the Salon has input for me (I am thinking of getting my own domain name and putting up a site) please feel free to drop by my journal .

Hypatia, are you saying that you were arrested by the fashion police? Smilies can be so hard to read, sometimes. I suggest clearing your browser cache - it might help with the browser problems.
Never been arrested, never got a moving traffic violation.
I wonder if the Library of Congress must use the filters too?

Yup. I've bled into the little devils. When you work on computer hardware for a certain amount of time, you learn that some cases have *very* sharp edges in them.

Hey, d'E, it was the 60's. We were all very, erm, fashionable in those days. And I wasn't actually booked. Just threatened. The cop turned out to be open to bribery. You'd never know it now, what with me being so dignified and all, but I was quite foxy.
I taped my TV interview. It won't be on until 10. Hope I don't sound like a moron. I wanted to talk about civil liberties. He asked what the was dirtiest picture I'd ever seen on the internet. I wanted to explain why the state law is better than the federal law. He wanted to know how much the filters cost. I wanted to talk about alternatives. He asked if a kid could peek at another kid's screen.

Sex sells, H, and the television news is entertainment meant to pad the space between commercials. It’s a shame, because you’re comments are exactly what people need to know in order to make informed decisions when it comes to election time (when the television news will complain about the uninformed and uninterested public).

I have a momentous annoucment to make, I have finsied my essay! all 52 references are nicely done in Vancover style, Okay this isonly momentous to me! But still, I had to tell someone and my houseates aren't going to appricating being woken up at 2.15 am.
I have to go into the medical school to print it off tomorrow morning and get to my new placement for 9am, which is of course on the other side of the city from The medical school, I've saved it to disk, e mailed it to my three e mailaddreses and saved it to yahoo breifcase. But i'm still scared something will go wrong, I know me and when I do things like this, things usualy do go wrong.

Well done, Z! As long as the printer at school is working, you should be in business. My fingers are crossed for you.

I've been busy all day and so has my computer. Tomorrow my computer and I are going to work together quietly in pairs; we have many greeting cards to print and box for the coming holiday weekend. Bo-ring!
Welcome back to the salon, ddombrow! Are you just going to lurk, or really join in? As I remember, every now and then you couldn't resist popping by with some aphothegm or other... And it's not a phoenix I'm going to paint.
Sh-sh! No talking about the book till at leas tmost of us have read it. Another thread might be in order, what do you think?
CIPA. Huh. Or, as Annaliese would say, buh! Is violence screened as well as sex?
I have a friend who swears by having a full-size cardboard cutout engineer standing next to his computer, with a cardboard screwdriver in the cardboard engineer's hand.
Let's see, what else can I remember from all the backlog? I hope Phil has a great time at Glastonbury. MR, is that tachycardia you have, or just the murmur? When my heart occasionally goes tachycardic I just whack myself in the chest and do calm deep breathing. Seems to work.
We have another American holiday weekend coming up. Not only a barbeque, but fireworks on the beach next weekend, shall we? Bring your own fireworks.
Painting a globe is revelatory. If any teacher here could amass the gourds or basketballs or whatever, I would recommend it as a project. I started with Africa, worked east to Vietnam, then went back west and completed most of Europe and all those mountains that sprawl and topple and fold across the Asian continent. I've also done Antarctica, the north pole... and the fuse.
B4, what are you studying at U of Phoenix?

Finangled the HP book offof that teacher in exchange for some Dianna Wynne Joness, and now it is sitting waiting for me to clean the flat before I start reading it. Woohoo. And the weather has cleared up just in time for my holiday. Splendid.
Never been arrested. Which I do feel is not trying hard enough, especially here. I don't even get stopped for document checks, which I always find a bit disturbing.

Lil, the murmur is there all the time, I guess. The tachycardia isn't. It's PSVT, or at least that's the initial diagnosis, which means they really don't know.
Key: Complain about this post
