Does anyone have a recipe for pumpernickel bread? I can't find it in any of my UK recipe books. A friend's US husband is very fond of it and she can't find it locally. As she has to find room in her suitcase for loads of other food stuffs she can only bring home one loaf at a time.
Z, that was nicely explained.
Sol, No1 son has decided that TEFL is not a route he wants to take as he managed to avoid all English grammar modules during his degree course. Mind you having done Latin, he would probably find it a doddle, but he doesn't want to do any further study for awhile. Thank you for the offer of advice though, it is appreciated.

Well, most of the people training don't have the foggiest about grammar to start with, Caer, but I can certainly understand the need to break from studying!

These messenger sites disappointment me, over and over again!
I recently registered with the AIM, and thought I'd have a look around - hmmmm... 'International' - that sounds interesting... and I ended up in a chat room with two people trying to carry on a conversation while being spammed by porn site links!
Oh - by the way - if any of the Salonistas have an AIM id - mine isn't Titania or Kristina, because so many varieties of those were already taken - I've chosen to use the name of the fictional character in my stories...

I'm on msn, but I don't find it that bad, I do have ICQ and AOL, but never really use them due to a lack of other people being on them.....

Let's see... I had ICQ but uninstalled it, since it slowed down my dial-up connection something terribly...
...and I'm boycotting MSN since they intentedly make the site not work for Opera users...

Good morning everyone! *heads straight for the kitchen, from whence emanates the aroma of fresh-baked cinnamon buns* God, I miss carbs like these...
Z, thank you for the explanation. And I really feel that it contributes immeasurably to the tone of the salon to have a nearly-a-doctor in residence!
I'm not going up Montjeau this morning after all, because I've decided to coddle that bad foot. Going up there would involve hiking steep trails and a bit of rock jumping. And I have a sign to paint for the Gallery anyway.
Marv, the fishnet stockings don't do your tattoo justice.

I've got two years to go, does that count as nearly? I don't think so! I too would boycott MSN if it wasn't for the fact taht all my friends are on it

I have Yahoo, MSN and ICQ on Trillian. I use them all and they are all mentioned somewhere on my U-page. I prefer Yahoo actually. But I hate their e-mail policy.

So, Z, in two years will you start charging us for medical advise? I need to know, so I can get all of my questions in early if necessary.
I enjoy being a girl......

Charging nooooo I'm far too left wing for that! in fact if my politics lent any futher to the left they'd go entrily arond the world and end up on my right.

Now that would be confusing.
T, for the link, I've emailed it to my friend.
Still wet here . But H has had a busy day sorting out the utility room and making lots of noise with his power tools.
Cassie has kept well out of his way and so has the kibble snaffling neighbour's .

Speaking of left vs right......have any of you who are able to get Fox News ever watched Hannity and Combs (sp?) ? Hannity is the Republican and Combs is the Democrat. Why do people agree to go on programs like this? Talk about your cat fights. They aren't nearly as interested in talking about the issues as they are in scoring points and calling names. Hannity is much more rabid than Combs - just my opinion - don't want to get the Beeb in trouble. And the Republican guests he had on (I watched it Thursday) were even more insulting than he is, which is quite a feat. Anyway, I turned it off in disgust and put it on my list of programs never to watch again.
I like to consider myself a moderate. I appreciate reasoned, respectful debate. If the right wing thinks it is going to persuade me to vote for them by being rude, insulting, and arrogant, then they are mistaken. This program is just poisonous.
What the right wing needs to do is look back at the 70's when the left wing became rude, insulting and arrogant and wound up at the bottom of a hole because of it. Most Americans are in the middle politically. All those swing voters are going to begin swinging left again if this keeps up. The only thing worse than a sore loser is a cocky winner.

Sure, you all chose the time when I am driving over 1000 kilometers to pick on me
I am safely in Northern Idaho and awaiting the various people involved to awake to start the day. at some point today I get to play cleric and marry two friends.
I am borrowing a connection from Njan and Nyssabird to keep in some ocntact with the world.
From what I can see this morning, I missed a wonderfull view on my drive in last night. Canyon roads winding this way and that, through forrest and glade. The misty air obscuring the horizons. Each turn a new adventure.
I will give a thorough report apres nuptuials.
