Wouldn't that be considered cannibalism Amy?
I think it is written somewhere, Caer: major appliances will go kerplooey during the holidays when your budget is at its tightest and your wallet at its thinnest. Already I have had to replace my vacuum cleaner.
A note to everyone: make sure when you've cut up a habaƱero or jalapeƱno pepper with your bare hands that you don't forget yourself and go rub your eyes or scratch a sensitive spot. I myself found out the pain such actions can cause last night.

The form of haiku is a very fluid one. The form that is most often recognized is the 5-7-5 form, but there are many rules. The trouble is that some of the rules are contradictory, impossible to follow them all.
Here is a good site on haiku. http://www.ahapoetry.com/haiku.htm

Marv,
Even though I did the Haikus earlier in the thread for 'gits and shiggles', they were spawned by thoughts of times I have / want to share with my wife. They were fun, but probably not on a par with the 'culturally correct' stylings of the originals. I read some good info about writing Haiku on the site a month ago, and I'm off to find it again. Maybe next go will provide a more 'zen-like' texture.

I'm still refusing to haiku.
Today is a beautiful day, sunny and almost warm. Now I know why SoCal is so crowded...who doesn't want sunshine and warmth in December?
I have a friend who is taking me to the snow in January. He says he knows where there's a good sledding hill. That will be nice... although I am hoping for snow when I get to Flagstaff on Sunday morning.

I heard that haiku don't sound so weird in Japanese, I'm unsure why the language would make a difference.
I loved the comedy in Twin Towers, though I don't believe Gimli is supposed to be quite that funny. Oh, well, they compensate by giving John Rhyse-Davis a second role.

He had more than two actually. He did the sounds for many of the orcs too.

The owner of the chinese joint that I go to all the time for lunch gave me a nifty gift today. A dangly thingy for my car. A good luck charm.

MR!
H got in from w*rk and had a look at the washer dryer, it seems the motor has gone so I now have to try and get a replacement before Xmas, if not life will be very irritating without one.

I will finally have become an adult when I have a washer and dryer I don't have to drive or walk to.

Thanks to the Advil gods, I'm breathing through my nose again. And now I'm off to study more about Mojoworld.

Good news, MR.
d'E, Oxford could tell me their decision sometime before Christmas, or in January. Probably the latter. Still, I've got offers from the five other unis, so at least that's over with.
*Isn't in a poetic mood.*
