A Conversation for LIL'S ATELIER

Madame Zora

I'm wondering if I should participate seeing as no person here has correctly guessed who I am.

*wonders if her disguise was too good*

Random characters often get added to pantos to accommodate any extra actors that can be dragged into the paly over the Christmas season.

Of course, Jack would be played by a girl, the Principal Boy always is, just as the Principal Girl is played by a girl smiley - erm.

Madame Zora, you would make an excellent Widow Twanky smiley - winkeye

This is all good stuff, except that I vote for the environment to be fairly well-described and the character list to be as loose as possible. To that end, I think characters from Edward Lear and Mervyn Peake should also be allowed. smiley - smiley

Madame Zora! Unmask youself!

I'm willing to make a floor plan if we can decide where the panto is to take place. It does wonders for Continuity to have a sense of geography!

I took some time yesterday night (into the morning) to review what had been done with the Mystery of the Mary Celeste and got totally engrossed. I noted, however, that each of the characters were 'bound' to certain script elements by the GM and had to play out sections in prescribed manner. That's good in the sense that it guides a storyline and keeps each player guessing about what everyone else is 'hiding' or capable of doing.

I agree with Max about the format for this one, though, that none of the players should be so 'boxed in', but rather are given free reign (dear) to be as creative as their imaginations will take them. This certainly makes for more fun all around. [Did I mention I literally LMAO during several of the segments of the Masque?]

Since Lil does such a tremendous job of mapping out the turf for the doings, let's provide as much support as possible. I vote for no mundane scenario. Lewis Carroll didn't do it. Douglas Adams certainly didn't, and look at all that's bred. Piers Anthony always had a marvelously wicked time in each the environments he generated. Fantastical settings, odd Non-Player characters, bewildering interjected events. They all get a big smiley - ok from me.

P.S. Can I play, too?

Madame Zora

Well, suppose it is time and all...

*Madame Zora suddenly stands upright, a full 6'1", and drops just as suddenly to peel off 4" heels*

Ooof. My feet.

*She then tears off her skirt, hat and her wig and wipes her makeup off with her shirt. No longer is Madame Zora standing amongst a crowd of people, but Sporky*

The Pooka MacPhellimey

Congrats, Sporky!
I suppose we could deal with the audience participation thing by login in as our characters from the Masque. I would hate to abandon the Pooka, and will be glad to see and hear him and the other guests in the audience, as they shout at me on the stage... Just imagine the intricated hilarious effects it would give. And we wouldn't have to keep creating accounts.

That's an interesting thought -- a mixture of entities, some of whose identities would be unknown? Could we rule that if you log on as your regular self you must be an audience entity?

Yes, that's exactly what I meant. Otherwise it would get too complicated.

Basically, Sporky, just dress up as your favourite nursury rhyme character. Then flail about with the rest of us in the environment that Lil is working on. smiley - biggrin
