I even played the mp3. My boss was impressed!
Films vs books. I can't think of any big disappointments the one way or the other. Maybe it's because I've come to terms with that books and films are two different medium that can't really be compared.
For a long time I refused to look at the illustrations in the new edition of LOTR though. I felt that those were more intruding on my own fantasy pictures than any movie. I think Lynch's Dune is a good film, but now it's so long since I've read the books that I can't remember what I thought about them. Maybe it's time for a re-read.
Did someone mention m'bougatses?

League of Gentlemen has made it to two six episode series over here (and a Christmas Special). My Second Series DVD indicates that it was split inot seven episodes in the US, due to your excesive adverts. Oh, and they did a stage show of it to, which I loved, especially the Theatre hooligans.
I try not to compare books and films, because they can be so different and I know some people who can get stupidly worked up about differences ("But they have to get the swords from the Barrow Downs")

Sorry Candi, I looked yesterday too but didn't have a time to see anything much beyond it being pink (reminding me that I have one more window sill to remove the paint from still). Since I'm now 45 minutes late for work it will have to wait again. I do want to hear your music.
<-- hiding at the top of the stairs so I can't put him in the kitchen where he needs to be when I am at work so that he does not eat things like digital cameras, and thus making me very very late for work.

Very happy to hear there are more League of Gentlemen episodes. Hope they show them on BBC America soon.
I am unfamiliar with Matina's concoctions. Does she share recipes? Right now I need something strong enough to remove varnish.
Good website Candi.

I, too, looked at your site, Candi. Very eclectic. I like it.

Candi - I also looked at your site and played the mp3. I'd never heard of noise music before meeting you here and it was nice to be able to finally hear some. I have a question, though. Are you able to reproduce particular songs, say in concert, or are they one-offs and each an original? To me it sounded somewhat random, but perhaps I just have an untrained ear. (Actually, the clip reminded me of the sound effects for a space battle )

Hi All!
Solnushka's pointed out that I've got a lot of greetings to acknowledge. (She's a special friend - first ACE to find me, just over a year ago now)
Thanks for your welcome, everyone, and sorry for not being attentive these last 2 days. Combination of RL and sombre anniversaries. But less of that...
You're supposed to start out by posting a thumbnail, right? Well, the World's Most Revered Ant welcomed a seal. That suits me just fine, so :
3ft long (waist measurement slightly exceeds body length), grey with darker blotches, whiskers, irresistible dark eyes, resistible stench of fish, improbably flexible about which polar region I inhabit. (Occasional nightmares where I'm a mid-40s engineer from Sheffield, England)
As both seal and nightmare-victim, I'm guided by a lovely creature known as the Weddell. If you do Goo, that's her in the top-left-hand-corner. There are several other strange animals round the Pier too, but I think I'd probably better keep them out of a nice place like this.
That's enough of that. Thanks once again for the welcome, and I plan to be around here as much as you'll have me. This place is one of the high-spots of hootoo for me, and to be finally posting here among the Great and the Good...
But for this weekend at least, I've got a Golden Wedding Anniversary party to get to. I guess a few of you know whose...

Nice to meet you Pinniped. I've never talked to a seal before, although I did once have a long conversation with a river otter. Not much salt water around these parts. H

Spalding Gray was in Dune?! Dang! Now I'll have to watch it again, just to see if I can spot him. I hate that movie.
And Pinniped, Zeppo finds the stench of fish most appealing. Welcome.
<-- hoping the flooding was not too severe, just enough to run around and play in.
