I've been on and off due to 'puter trouble. My W*ndows machine keeps claiming spurious 'illegal operation's.
Neverwinter Nights?

Holiday weekend here in Canada. July 1st is Canada Day (formerly known as Dominion Day) and there'll be fireworks, etc. as Canada celebrates her 135th birthday. Thankfully, July 1st falls on a Monday this year, so we get a long weekend (Canada Day is one of those holidays that is celebrated on the exact date).
Regarding the Crown lands. I hadn't realized that the monarchy still owned them and that only the revenue was given to the government. In Canada, the Crown lands are owned by the government. Anyway, it's a little hard to separate in my mind what is rightfully "personal" property of a monarch and what is rightfully property belonging to the country as a whole. To me, the lines are a bit blurred.

Wow, this is a slow weekend - normally by the time I get around to replying 3 new conversations have begun!
Queen's lands, government lands, I don't know - all we have are crooked politicians. We *are* allowed to wander through most of the government areas, though (at least at scheduled times), on the understanding that they're ours.
July 4th is exact, too, but I vaguely remember reading that they'd got it wrong: it was supposed to be the 5th or the 3rd, I can't remember which.

{[caer csd] according to our router the net almost came to a standstill, backing up H's view that the whole thing could well implode. The main infrastructure for the net in the UK is still JANET, whose ISP is Worldcom! This is the first time in 4 hours I've been able to connect }

I think it helps to imagine, when considering the British set up, that everything belongs to the crown rather than the government, including the government and all power therof. It is more or less true.
Yes, I'm releived, sea too. The suspense is killing me
