just got home from star wars....hmmmmm. not so impressed. visually stunning, emotions ham-handed, and natalie portman apparently has issues with acting against a blue screen.
ewan mcgregor, as always, was excellent. there are some lovely one-liners that true star wars fans will get....and yoda!!!!!!
but really, not what i was hoping for. i know where it's all going.

Red,
I can agree with you on a bit of that. But I must sayt hat I was quite excited with teh film. I will be going again this weekend to see if I can catch a bit more of it, alas I was sleep deprived and got groggy in the first half.

I'm glad to hear that my..er...*your* CD has arrived, Marv.
You'll have to let me know what you think--via phone if it's an unpleasant reaction...
Nice pictures, Caer! I really like your hat and dress (and your cat, too).
Tonight I have to work on Step Two of the three layer cake I am making for MR's graduation party. Fun with alcohol, fruit, and cream.

Boyfriend has refused to see Star Wars until next week, when it's cheaper *pout* There was a stunningly bad review in my least favourite paper yesterday, though, which makes me feel quite happy with it already
Unfortunaely the mosquitos are back *rubs bites. scratches bites. Complains* The little monsters always catch me by surprise.
Sorry about your outbreak, Hati.

Thanks PL & WM, the hat is now reclining in its box adn I haven't the faintest idea when I shallwear it again!
Sadie is now asleep on No1 son's new bed, she is going to be most put out when he returns next weekend! It has her seal of approval as main kipping spot prior to her major nap on our bed when the sum moves round later. Except that it is cloudy and damp today.
No2 son saw SW yesterday and says its the best yet. As a Film and Media studies student, he says just enjoy the film for what it is and that Yoda is super . I have no idea when Ishall get to see it as Dad goes in tomorrow for surgery on Monday so I shall be belting up and down the A3 for at least the next week.

Morning *nods*
Ah the indignity of working on a Saturday. This is payback for all those days off last week.
Never mind. One lesson down, two to go...

ive read all sorts of reviews. heres a breakdown of trends
serious film critic type #1: this is a bad film. it has bad acting, bad dialogue, too many flashy effects and no substance
serious film critic type #2: this film is so bad that its good. for the same reasons as above
tabloid film critic type #1: this is the greatest film ever. masterful. genius. scintillating. incisive. subtle. beautiful.
tabloid film ciritc type #2: i wish i worked for a proper newspaper, so im going to agree with serious film critic #1
no one i can trust has actually said that its actually a good film...ill still go and see it, but i was angry about episode one. its only the lightsabres that are enticing me to go to this one

I spent all yesterday at home, makeing the traditional 17.th of May lunch, for those who went to town to see the parades. I believe Norway is the only country in europe who celebrates it's constitution day with childrens parades with flags and flowers, instead of military parades. As Titana said, it's quite spectacular!
And the kids gets to eat as much icecream they can manage.
Tonight we're going to a consert at our favourit rock-club http://www.garage.no/, so I'll better get started on finding a babysitter....
I don't want any bad news from you, Amy!

The invoice for our holiday arrived this morning at least we have till the end of July to pay it One hefty increase was all the added tax now on the total and paying for Virgin's premium economy service: you get a business class seat with economy service. Although not tall, we wanted to be comfortable for the flight.
*note to self: buy 1) a non-wired bra for reducing the risk of setting the metal detector alarm off (happens every time normally leading to a frisking by hard faced female never the handsome young man). 2) In flight compression socks*

My feet swelled up most painfully on the recent 10 hour flight home (though not there for some reason). Took two days to go down. Are the socks against that? How does that work?
50Xth Conversation at Lil's
Coniraya Posted May 18, 2002
The socks are to help prevent DVTs, applying stronger compression at the foot and ankle, decreasing towards the knee and improving circulation, so swelling shouldn't happen, Sol.

I gotta get me some of those. Not that I plan to be getting on a plane for such a long time any time soon, but you never know.
