neglected the forum for a few days, have now caught up
*reflects on her long-unused angelic wings*
*flaps cautiously*
ow!
*stretches a bit*
*goes for the best of both worlds - tiptoes across bridge, while flapping gently to minimize weight on the bridge. settles down with favorite sandwich, yellow cheese, humus and cucumbers and cucumbers on pita.*
no fear people, I've brought duct tape.
yum.

*making sure ant lady secure in backpack*
*red eyes glow*
Any pork pies on cart? Duct tape sticks to fur.

Researcher 179388 Posted Oct 9, 2001
It was years before I realised it was duct tape and not duck tape !
Its not so much Alvin Stardust I'm concerned about, after all there is only on of him and Steve Davis was/is never more than 'interesting'.
Its the thought of the Bay City Rollers that worries me more!
The Linen Closet
Munchkin Posted Oct 9, 2001
Bay City Rollers! Gaah, tartan hell!
Any old shoes, a couple of cucumber sandwiches and then I think I'll follow the duct tape (which we always called gaffa tape). You can conquer the world with Gaffa Tape, or at least keep alien war machines together.
The Linen Closet
Researcher 179388 Posted Oct 9, 2001
Is gaffer tape the same as duck tape then? You learn something new every day
No2 son uses it for taping the leads from his guitar to amps down on the carpet. I still mamage to trip over them though!
*shines torch around to see what everyone else is up to*
I like rats, they have lovely warm silky tails. There used to be an absolute beauty in the London Dungeon. Is that owned by Madame T's as well now?

*Having gotten her currage up by eating small tidbits of fancy food, B tiptoes over the rope bridge.*
*Hurrying after the others she thinks she sees and everywhere.*
It's only stalag..stalact... (oh drat!) stones!

cafram - in the states. Posted Oct 9, 2001
Caer, gaffer tape is material, duct tape is plasticky and nasty
*curls up behind a conveniently placed stalegmite*
mmm.....comfy....
The Linen Closet
Researcher 179388 Posted Oct 9, 2001
[Its definitely gaffer tape he is using on the carpet then, Cafram. He did say it was what the professionals use.]
Are we going to move on with this quest then? My torch batteries are going to run out soon.
What's happened to that Heart thingy?
The Linen Closet
Munchkin Posted Oct 9, 2001
We're on a quest?! Crivens! How exciting. If I'd known that I'd have brought my coconut halves to make clip clop noises.
Any way, anyone got a clue which direction we should go in? *Waves wee blue torch in a random arc*
The Linen Closet
Garius Lupus Posted Oct 9, 2001
*Hands Munchers his spare coconut halves.
An ominous thump-thump, thump-thump, squish, thump-thump is heard from below, getting nearer, slowly.*
Well, it seems that it CAN climb, but not very fast. I suggest we cross the bridge, then untie it. *peers over the edge* And I suggest we do so very soon.
What I wouldn't give for a cholesterol gun right now.

Munchkin Posted Oct 9, 2001
Thank you.
Neigh clippety clop.
*Shies nervously at noise from the chasm*
Shall we off?
Clippety.

*crosses the bridge to join the others after carefully selecting some canapes that will survive being stuffed into various pockets*
*starts to hum the boom diddy boom diddy boom diddy boom diddy booboom song from a Peter Sellars film*
That Heart thingy seems to get along quite happily without a blood supply. It would be interesting if it wasn't so scary.
The Linen Closet
Bumblebee Posted Oct 10, 2001
*nervously looks around*
I wonder what direction we're going. I hope we're not getting near the Forum&Firkin's cellar, where the evil Tentacle lives!
I'm scared!
The Linen Closet
cafram - in the states. Posted Oct 10, 2001
*curls up tighter behing the stalagmite and quivers in fear*

Titania (gone for lunch) Posted Oct 10, 2001
*the voices of the others seem closer now*
Hallooo... hallooo... hallooo... hallooo... ha!
*bites lip*
*wondering if echoes really are supposed to bet cut off that abruptly*

The Tentacle a friend? Are we talking about the same Tentacle? (Of course we do, there's only one such creature...)
