not only was there a spelling mistake, but twice over. Just one more reason to lurk, if you ask me

Well, I didn't go to the London meetup either. Instead I sat on the veranda drinking wine with the neighbors into the night..
This morning I was woken up by a tremendous thunderstorm! It was raining s and s. And now there's a broken water-pipe somewhere so that we're without water for an unknown length of time... Not a good situation to be in when
Marv, The more times you try to quit, the easyer it gets. It's not the end of the world if you relapse, just keep working at it. It also helps, as someone said, to get p****d off at the tobacco-industry at large
It's now 17 months and three weeks since my last sigarett.
Matina, please stop pointing and laughing and give me a ,
I'm parched!

Good morning everybody! It's chore countdown, here in Lakeland, the city I didn't choose to live in in the first place. This morning was the last time I'll ever have to clean the swimming pool filters and change out the DE. And feel like I'm drowning in the humidity and heat when it's only 8 in the morning! Next week this time I'll be in New Mexico, driving my new car.
*peeking into the kitchen* Aha, Matina has made cinnamon buns!

Surfaces following an extremly successful London meetup, to find that Phil was still awake enough to post when he got home last night!, well done, I just slumped on the sofa with a mug of coffee and then went to bed.
Now for the rest of the backlog.....

I was totally tanked up when we got back (as was everyone else). No-one here managed to get much sleep and so right now I'm very very tired

*Walks in (never seems to leave though, does he?) looking a bit dreary and a tad bored, though God knows how much work he's got to do.*
Cinnamon buns!
*His face lights up, as he dashes into the kitchen.*

I'm spending the afternoon re-listening to the hhgttg as being in the BBC shop yesterday reulted in me updating my old and crackly tapes with a nice new set of CD's

Belive us the meetup is all about asides
Heres the very abridged version, so we can spend the next few weeks filling in those details we remember.
After the usual milling around, this time on the steps of All Souls church next to the Broadcasting House, The BBC experienced the effect of letting a large number of researchers loose in the BBC experience.
For the dubious benifit of those who were not there, the Experience consists of a series of small exhibits about different bits of the Beeb together with a short guided tour part including making a short radio play.
The interative bits of the exhibition included a number of terminals connected to the BBC web site.
The end result of which was that all the computer screens were left pointing at one particular web site, luckily for them they had made certain that there were no keyboards available otherwise they would never have got us out of the place.
Following this we all followed Abi's directions to a pub just off Trafalgar square for a beer before the official beers later, only to find there had been a protest march by the deaf in central london and the pub had been taken over by them, an erie experience according to those who managed to get in the door, to find the pub packed but silent due to all the conversations being in sign language.
At this point we beat a retreat and made an early arrival at the Ship and Shovel by Charing Cross station.
Their followed the usual intake of large amounts of and expenditure of many Moxans over the bar until throwing out time.

*floating in, humming*
Matina, lemon ice with a LOT of ice, please...
Thunder storms? I'd LOVE one right now, they said on the forecast there'd be one today, but the sky is still clear...

...at 8 pm the temperature was still 32 degrees Celsius (87 F?) in the shadow, but after that the sun sunk behind the trees in front of my flat, and now at 9.30 pm it's just 24,5 C (66 F?) which means I've opened my balcony door to let the cooler air into my warmer flat 27,5 C (75 F?)...

London...I am SOOOO jealous.
The night out with the girls was, indeed, a wonderful evening. One friend, a makeup/ hair kind of gal, did me up, and I have *never* looked so good in my life.
Also met the new neighbors, and when they introduced their two dogs as Kudra and Alobar, I just laughed, stuck out my hand and replied "beets". Confused the girls, but what the heck. It was a good thing, meeting these neighbors. I think we will get along just fine!
Sadly, though, I slept LATE today...just not used to staying out til bar close!

Just had three nights of being out drinking till the bars shut. I've not been feeling very well today. A nice early night before going on holiday tomorrow (driving up to Manchester).

*As he was wont to do once before, he goes off to watch A Touch Of Frost...*
*Um, and explanation for my change in grammatical stance could be gathered from my reading of The Lord of the Rings just now. *

Incredible!
There I was, wondering why this place was so quiet, considering it's only half an hour left to midnight, thinking that someone else ought to be up by now, at least in New Zealand...
- and 'pop goes the weasle'!
Still cold, Looney?

Titania, it's currently eight with an expected high of 15. Not bad for the middle of winter.
