The abandoned and sealed-off second floor

I'm interested in Matina talking too. That's a possible sign that she's not mentally stable at the moment, really. Most of the ones that I designed were built to never speak unless they felt that they didn't have another option.
The more advanced security bots were the only usual exceptions to that rule, as they needed to speak in order to offer diplomatic solutions to potentially dangerous problems.
So for Matina to speak both frequently and in eloquent verse, she must be very, very stressed to say the least.
*Shrugs*
Or maybe she just took up talking as a hobby. It's not unheard of for sentient robots to reprogram themselves over time. She might be perfectly fine.

*cuts a large piece of the still-hot apple pie into a bowl and scoops some vanilla ice cream over it, then tops it with caramel sauce and hands the concoction to Red Dog*
*makes herself a smaller portion, then pauses to look up at the spider* That is a bot. I'm sure of it.
Well, there isn't any reason why a bot shouldn't take up talking as a hobby, except that Matina has been alone here for so long. Who would she talk to?

Ampton? I wonder if he is around.

Garius Lupus Posted Apr 21, 2004
Could be Ampton, I suppose, since they did have a 'thing' going for a while there. When we were last here, I think Lil left Ampton working away at the main servers, trying to open a rift for us to get back. For all we know, he could STILL be there. Or anywhere, for that matter.
*Looks at Red Dog's pie concoction Makes one for himself, but adds a smiley face made out of aspirins.*

I feel sleepy too, after all that food. I wonder if Chloe has cleaned the guest rooms?
*suddenly stands up and heads out through the library* I'm going to check out my apartments. Be right back.

/* Zeppo tugs back, harder */
"Admin Level 2" -- could that be part of the abandoned CLI? Um, hopefully abandoned. Hey Affi, if you and GL are... Zeppo, no shoe! ...if you and GL are here in the future and never get back, which judging by the condition of the Atelier it seems very likely that none of us will get back, how long would it take before your experiments got... Zeppo, no shoe! ...got out of their cages? And how long would something like the Heart of Darkness live?

*sea glances at the maid, then whistles innocently. Suddenly, she grabs the maid and shoves her back in the Pocket, zipping it shut and securing it with a combination lock*
You'll be paid when you've finished! The floor's still sticky!
*Advances on GL and RD*
As for you two, letting her out in the first place...
*Pauses*
*Glances at other researchers*
*Mutters something about the difficulty of controlling evil impulses in the presence of others*
I'll get you two back elsewhere.

d'E, I've never seen Zeppo behaving like this. Have I just missed stuff or is there something wrong with that shoe?

*returns from her apartments, showered, rested, and wearing fresh clothes*
I found my kevlar leotard and some other things I might need. Why don't y'all use the guest rooms to refresh yourselves before we push on? It looks as if these areas were never looted or anything, they just got all decrepit, but Chloe is cleaning everything up now. Thanks to the feisty maid for dusting her so she could function!
*looks around* Where's the feisty maid?
