The One And Only Aroma Café is open!

Jesus...I had a really, really big scare as my dad works in lower Manhattan. Everything's ok, but it's insane, my whole school gathered around a tv and just watched all morning... it's hard ot believe it'snot just a movie or a dream. my god.

The pictures of the plane crashing are just unreal. It appears in the picture and just smoothly moves behind the building. It's unreal.
*dazed?*

*Enters, wearing white ribbon*
If anybody wants to wear a white ribbon, I've got them. Here in Flagstaff I'm finally begining to react in some emotional way.

For me, it's like that passage in the first Hitchhiker's book. Where Aurthur tries to come to grips with the destruction of Earth. Specific things can have an effect. I can't comprehend the whole thing at once. But when I see individual people reacting because they knew someone there, then I react. On a small scale I can comprehend the pain. On a large scale it's like a disaster movie. Catastrophic, but you don't really believe it's real. I mean, things like this don't happen in real life. No one crashe planes into buildings. If someone had written this in a movie, or a novel, the audience would have never accepted it. They would have laughed at the absurdity because NO ONE DOES THESE THINGS!
It has to be on a very personal level to be real to me...

I agree with you.
Luckily enough it is not on a very personal level to me. It is still something from the tv and radio and www. I had relatives in NY but I had never chance to meet them and they are all gone for some years already.
So I just can't imagine it.

My deepest sympathies to all Americans in the H2G2 and my sincerest condolences to all affected. I am shocked and horrified, trying to fathom what happened.
I have seen all the TV-pictures, they cancelled all programs on TV last night, sending only news and comments on this tragedy. (Except for three half hours programmes about the Maori and wildlife in New Zealand...) The last thing I heard on the radio this morning was that people are phoning for help from inside the ruins. I've had a lump in my throat since then.

I have been reading news last night and today, on air. My voice trembles and I want to go home. I still can't understand what happened. I have all the information etc but that doesn't help. I felt the same way when m/s Estonia sank and I still don't understand.
IIEM, still there? Please make me something relaxing.

*lights candles all around in the café, lights up the logs in the fireplace, finds some warm blankets and extra pillows from the cupboard*
I think I'll stay in the sofa today.

That's what I thought too.
*Picks up one of Irvs white ribbons* I'm going to put this on.
Listening to the radio, it's only getting worse and worse.
