h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Welcome good people! The famous A**** Café have the honour to present a brand new conversation thread!
During the night the cleaning-bots have done wonders with the place! The walls have been given a new coat of paint, the floor is polished and the windows are sparkling! The Infinite Improbability Espresso Machine, also known as IIEM, have been thoroughly cleaned and the filters are changed. It can provide you with any beverage your heart desire, exept alcohol. A new module have been added so it will now be able to serve quite a nice soup.
We have comfortable chairs, a Deep Purple sofa if you need a nap, a jukebox in the corner there, and an old mechanical piano over there. Come in, sit down, Ook the blue orangutan would love to play a round of backgammon with you!

'scuse me if I seem a bit jumpy today, there's a guy testing the new alarm system at my w*rkplace. Really nerve-shattering sound!

Ahhh!!!! Sounds like torture! Is it a bring-bring bell, or a high-pitched "Beep Beep" that resonates through your ears and straight into your migraine? Our school had one like that, apparently it was a type of fire-alarm that was designed so that even the deaf could hear it? (Well, it was designed to produce vibrations that could be felt on your skull, or something like that. ). Good idea, but it meant everyone felt ill and had a pounding headache for the rest of the day.
And we didn't even have any deaf people in our school.

Is it usually busier round here?

We have about 10+ regulars but it seems that they are on vacation or too busy with w*rk or just somewhere else. I have been offline mostly these days, too. But on thursday and friday I'll be here all day long.
How did you find this place?

I say the pub mentioned somewhere, but then I saw the link to the non-alcoholic café and I thought that the café sounded better, since I'm underage (does that count on h2g2?).

I see. Being underage doesn't count so much here, I guess. And h2g2 is addictive itself, you know. If you stay here, you can't live without it.
Our Café is a nice place of talking about weather (The most important issue at all, IMHO) or about more interesting things. Usually the people here are very friendly, that's why I stayed here when I found the way here.

The weather's dull here (Edinburgh) at the moment. There was a forecast of rain, but it hasn't.
