After last issue's hiatus, the Post Team is back in full swing again! Shazz's computer and health have returned and the play I was working on closed, to the tune of many lovely ticket sales. Much has happened since I last spoke to you: the Democrats have taken back the United States Congress (an event which has certainly dominated our lives over here) and San Diego had its first rain since March — if, while not as momentous as the Congressional takeover, did involve considerable excitement. This week is a particularly important one for The Post, and not just because we're actually here: this week, we have two major competitions for you. Artists may be interested in our 7th Anniversary Graphic Competition, for which we'd like you to design artwork to grace our pages for the 7th anniversary issue. The poets among you will want to check out the annual Christmas Poetry Competition, with two categories: traditional Christmas poetry and Vogon poetry. The best submissions will be featured in the holiday edition of The Post, and we'd also welcome any other seasonal submissions for that issue. In other news, our friends at the Douglas Adams Continuum have informed us that the comedy pilot 'Out of the Trees', written by Douglas Adams and Graham Chapman, will be shown at Britain's National Film Theatre on 2 December. Details can be found here. Next Thursday is the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States. Even though the mythology surrounding the origins of Thanksgiving is likely false, and even though a good many readers aren't American, why not take a few minutes next week to consider what you're thankful for? I think it's a nice idea, anyway. |
