This page is equally boring in all skinssmiley - winkeye

I'm going to put my titles here, instead of up there, because I've had it pointed out to me that long titles make it necessary for some to scroll left and right...

Keeper of inside jokes, even after they're not funny to anyone else anymore...

Muse of Good Natured Nagging

Official Mufflewhump Giver-Outerererer...er...er...

If you came here to find the definition of 'mufflewhump' scroll down to the bottom... Feel free to read on the way down, of course...

To be fair, I think I should warn you that there's lots of footnotes1, so this page may be annoying if you don't have IE. Sorry...

I was interviewed for the Post! 29.11.2001...

Go check out my entry on Epilepsy, which made the Front Page on 11.1.02...

Oh, this is fun!2

Latest news--I'm going to have a baby in July! You can keep up with the pregnancy in my journal, and in the journal of PaperBaby3.

OK, for all those breathlessly waiting4, I've finally gotten around to figuring out my H2G2 Code...

So who is Amy Pawloski, anyway?

I am!

smiley - biggrin

But I suppose I should answer that question... When I figure it out, I'll let you know, OK?

Any other questions?

OK, let's leave philosophy out of this... Who is Amy Pawloski?

Oh, alright...

As should be obvious, since I'm using my real name, I'm a woman. I've been Mrs Pawloski since 12 July 1997, and I'm now 29. My husband's name is Tom, and so is his dad's6. Tom has joined h2g2, as Thomas Didymus7, and I've got a link to him down on the bottom. Why don't you go say hello?8 Oh, and I'm American9.

What does 'aka "paper lady"' refer to?

Well, once upon a time, there was a Radish that I really, really wanted to attend, but it was in Leeds, and I'm nowhere near there. (Maybe this would be a better link for info on the Radish...) I whined a bit, and Amy the Ant gave me her email address, so I did a hurried sketch, scanned it and sent it to her, so I could be there in paper, if not in person. Afterwards, I found out that Wumbeevil took the pictures, and I left him a message asking about them that began something like 'Yes, it's me, the paper lady'. We chatted a while, and I mentioned that I actually liked puns. Later, on another thread, I complained about the caption on the picture of 'me' in the men's room, and Wumbeevil responded that he thought that 'a certain paper lady liked puns'. I decided that I liked 'paper lady', but that I wanted to keep my name...

And I've been having fun playing with the concept of being made of paper here on h2g2...

I've since sent 'myself' to several meets...

So what do you do all day?

I stay logged on all day because I can... As to what I do all day at work (besides bringing my h2g2 window from behind my necessary-for-work windows at every opportunity)10--I work for the California State Treasurer's Office11.

What do you do when you're not at work?

Well, Sodit through Thing12, most of the hours I'm at home I'm asleep! I have to be at work at 7.30 am, and getting there takes awhile, so I get up at 6 am and go to bed at 10 pm13. I usually get home just before 5 pm, so that means, at most, I'm home and awake for just over five and a half hours. And some of that time is spent at the gymsmiley - yuk... Sodit nights, we have people over. Weekends I do stuff with my husband, and post on h2g2... I also do laundry14. And Dontbrys17 are very busy... As everyone that knows me knows, my husband and I are Christians18. Anyway, Tom is helping out with the Sunday school, so our morning goes like this... I get up at 7.00, get ready, and turn the bathroom over to Tom, while I play on the computer. We leave at 8.15 to get to the 8.30 am service. After the service, Tom drives me home, and then goes back to the church for Sunday19 school20. And then we generally go to the 6 pm service, as well21...

You seem to have left Poets22 out. Did you forget, or are they different somehow?

I'm glad you caught that. Poetses are different. But only because I stay up ridiculously late, considering how early I get up...

I didn't expect quite so many personal 'real life' details...

Then you shouldn't have asked so many questions!smiley - biggrin

You may have a point... One last question, though--What do you do here on h2g2?

I used to read entries... But now I'm more into the community side than the Guide side...

I'm one of the Amys, a questioner (we won the race to 10K posts!), and I admit to my addiction...

And I received a wolf cub from Amy† a while ago. She's an adorable ball of golden fur with mahogony eyes, and I've named her Flamedancer...Who is now being trained to make people feel better, and I will loan her out for short periods for this purpose. But until Amy the Ant is feeling much better, she has first dibs.

And as it says way up at the top, I'm now a Keeper! And what I'm Keeping is here...

I'm a Muse! Visit the Musehome, and say hi to all of us.

And now, thanks to pheloxi, I'm a United Friend.

I'm an ACE!

After quite a bit of protest on my part, I'm now the Thingite Official Mufflewhump Giver-Outerererer...er...er...

I just noticed that I have a Post Reporter's badge23smiley - bigeyes When did that happen? I don't write much for smiley - thepost...

OK, I know I said that the above question was the last question, but can I ask one more?

You just did! smiley - biggrin

You know what I meant...

Oh, alright...Can't I have some fun?

What's your question?

Who are your friends?

I was getting to that, before I was interrupted smiley - winkeye...

Sorry...

That's OK...(Didn't you see me wink, ?)

I've got lots of friends! I'm still amazed at how easy it is to make real friends here...(In alphabetical order in each list, so please don't complain) (And the * next to some names indicate people that haven't been on for a long time, that I don't know if they'll be back on h2g2 ever)

And last, but most certainly not least...

smiley - loveblushThomas Didymussmiley - loveblush

Unfortunately, I'll probably never get to meet many of them IRL (at least, the ones in the drop-down boxes--of course I know Tom!), because I can't get to meets! smiley - wah (OK, so I got to go to the Pennsylvania Dutch Meet this summer... And I'm organizing the Gilroy Garlic Festival Meet for next summer.)

At the meet, I got to meet (in the order in which I met them, unless I met them at the same time, in which case they're alphabetical) Tac, Paul, Alexandra, Id, Mr Christopher, Wonk, Amy†, Lady Scott, Shorty, Jimi, Theory, Shea, and TJ. And two sets of parents, although I never did get their names...

However, I did get Tom to say that, on the off chance that any of my friends want to visit, they can, as long as we get some decent amount of notice, and my friends realize that we'll be taking them with us to church... He also pointed out that, with how far away everyone is, this is very unlikely to happen...Which I of course realize, but it'd be nice to prove him wrong sometime...

And they can contact me at [email protected]

I signed up with Trillian, so I can be reached at all these places, when I'm online at home...

OK, this is the last question, I swear... What on earth is a mufflewhump???

Fair question, as I'm constantly giving them out...

A mufflewhump, according to Pod, is whatever you want it to be, but it's always very wonderful...(OK, so Pod generally puts lots and lots of smileys after the word 'always', but this is my space...)Therefore, mufflewhumps are the best gifts...

1I tend to like footnotes...2Though if you're a Goo fan, you'll want to chance 'alabaster' to 'classic' in the box under where you choose the dialect--I couldn't get it to do it without a skin name!3Or indeed just by standing still long enough smiley - winkeye4All zero of yousmiley - winkeye5
Though that's not my passwordsmiley - tongueout
6But I can't use senior and junior to differentiate between them, because their middle names are different. Although they both start with 'J'.7Though you'll never see me call him Thomas... If you see me referring to Thomas instead of Tom or Thomas Didymus, I'm talking about Tom's dad8Other than the fact that he's never on, that is...9In California, to be a bit more precise...10Alas, those opportunities come less frequently now...11No, I can't send you any money! Silly... It's the State Controller's Office that has the money...12Monday through Thursday for normal people smiley - winkeye13Theoretically, anyway...14Not very exciting, but at least I can sit at the computer while the washer's going... I'll miss having a washing machine when we move1516...15I was right--I do miss it...16This is different now, but may change back soon, so I'm not rewriting it!17Sundays18In fact, Tom's studying to be a pastor!19I'm not changing this one.20So if you're one of the few that has my phone number, I know I'll be home... But still check to make sure I won't be online, as we only have one phoneline...21Not that the sheer amount of church attendence means anything...22Friday23Now you know what skin I use--Goo's pretty, but it gives me a splitting eyestrain headache after a few minutes, and Alabaster's slower than Brunel, so... *shrugs* Purely practical reasons (And I like the badges in Brunel)24Though if you're going to ICQ me, email me your number, as I've got it set up so that only those on my contact list can contact me...25Surprise, surprise...
