Pimms lettuce has helped with the spelling.

Jack, any idea when you are going to be able to address all the points? Best to note that you are still in process of doing so, or some helpful prson may repeat the same points
When you are finished with polishing the text, if you are really unhappy with the appearance of your entry without tags, make a copy of the entry for your personal space as you like it.
Then (to make other people happy) edit this PR version with excised, and add some tags to split it up. The Guide is a wonderful place to do your own thing (and I think this DBZ entry is pretty good) but as far as the EG is concerned the aim is for a modicum of consistency in style, and doesn't fit in.

I'm all for it appearing in the guide, that's why I wrote it.
But I will not change my style just because its inconvienient to someone whose job it is to make the guide entry up to PR standard.
I'll accept the spelling etc. need correcting but not the way its presented!

Jack are you aware that the people "whose job it is" (the Subeditors)are volunteers? Just like Scouts, ACEs and Gurus.
They take on this role for the good of the h2g2 community to assist in making the whole project work smoothly. Your refusal to change your style is not a 'noble stand' but unreasonably stubborn and churlish.

(as I said before you can keep your own version in your own style, but the one for inclusion to the EG has to fit the Guide ML formatting style suggested)

I'm not trying to be noble or disrespect the Sub Editors but that's what they chose to do and now what to expect.
I think the style looks fine as it is. If it's not, they'll change it and so be it, but there's nowhere that says I can't have the breaks, I've looked.
I write for the post and if something isn't right they'll edit it or take it out, I don't expect to get an email that tells me I must take out a bit.

Well, like I say, it's up to you but it's unlikely to be picked unless you change the line breaks, which would be a real shame, as it's a good entry

Because of doing something that isn't against the writing guidelines!

Because of doing something that isn't correct English - in English we don't start a new line every time you start a new sentence, and guide entries are no different.

You have more-or-less. There are a few sentences without line breaks at the end of them, but not many. Besides which, the vast majority of people would say it looks better, and is easier to read (which is very important in a guide entry) if there is a clear space between each paragraph
like this (which is achieved with a tag), rather than just a line break.

The spelling corrections. The only reason I went over it AND the addition of the Journey to the West bit.

Jack, the 'people whose job it is to get it up to PR standard' (by which I assume you actually mean EG standard) are (or is) YOU. Not the Scouts, and not the Subs. It's what PR is for - peers make suggestions, authors respond to them, and everyone ends up with a better article more suitable for the EG - and if you're refusing to do that, that's your decision.
You've put a lot of work in on this entry, and it's a good one. It'd be a shame if all the Scouts interested in picking your entry were put off by your intransigence over formatting issues. What happens next is down to you, I suppose...

I honestly do not see a problem with the breaks. It looks alright, and is easier to read that in one big bulk. So what do the Sub-Editors do then?
