After lengthy discussions and checking of diaries the date for the Dutch Meet 2003 was set as the weekend of 27th-28th September 2003 and took place, as ever, in Alphen Aan Den Rijn. The Meet included a visit to 'Het Kasteel', Efteling, the planned visit to a Snooker Pub was scrapped due to no tables being available until around midnight so we adjourned to HK once more, and the inevitable sitting around chatting and drinking.

Accomodation

Shazz and TM's place looks to be booked to capacity already, but we will try to track down a few more places to crash for those interested. If all else fails, there are a couple of reasonably-priced hotels in the area.

Please sign up in the Accomodation forum if you want us to try and find you a bed/floor for the night.

Agenda

  • Thursday evening: Ten-Forward cafe in Het Kasteel
  • Friday morning/afternoon: Relaxing in Alphen, while everybody comes in during the day.
  • Friday evening: Confirmed! The group Silkstone is playing in Het Kasteel. They are billed as 'Americana, southern rock and a little country' - so somewhat quieter than the Band Kabaal we endured last time. This is followed by a move to the small bar. Towelmaster will be the DJ and I am sure that he will take requests!
  • Saturday morning/afternoon: Arrival of Mina. Trip to Efteling.
  • Saturday evening: A visit to the Snooker Club in Alphen for a few games of pool seems a popular choice, followed by a few drinks at local bar Kwatro.
  • Sunday: Recovery time and bidding farewell!

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
