Err... we've never needed money as Holly gives us access to food and we trade we other cultures for items....

We need to go there to one, get some computer and nav upgrades, and two, to see about getting some manuals on how to operate this mining ship.

We need to mine asteroids because they are the only thing to mine out here. And we can use the ores obtained by the mining to pay for engine upgrades. And that sort of thing.
