I think Prokofiev was a good composer. So how come he's so unpopular? It seems to me as if lots of people are talking about him, so just WHAT do we need to do to get him off the neglected list?

KEEP TALKING! As soon as the activity level on the forum drops, he'll be back on the list. KEEP TALKING!

Hey you guys aren't even trying, I managed 10 and I'm only a tiny fairy
Seriously though, we have to get him un-neglected so thanks for all your help and can I just say that Peter And The Wolf is indeed superb and I now realise it must have been the first Prokofiev I ever heard at the age of 4, aaah

Which would be about the age Michael was when he became a fan
Presumably you had the old Ralph Richardson recording, with the "cet" (advanced RP, dontcha know). On the same CD we have the Carnival des Animaux, another favourite, and the wonderful Sean Connery narrating Britten's Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra with that rather spiffy bit of Purcell.

Ummm actually I had the childrens classics tape, but it had a very nice picture on the front with puppets, I used to love it
I seem to think that you did mention the virtual beer page but I was restraining myself until after we'd got Prokofiev off the neglected list because otherwise I'd get distracted

Hello everyone,
It is really heartening that so many people have dropped by to offer support to Sergei. The mention of Britten's Young Guide to the Orchestra got me playing my copy - I'd nearly forgotten what a really enjoyable romp that is.
Tinkerbell, you have been the inspiration for and the vanguard in this campaign. It sure is a pleasure working with you. Take care,
Walter.

I've got nothing to say but it's O.K.
Good morning, good morning

First time I became interested in the music of Prokofiev, it was because of the title 'The love of the three oranges' (sorry, don't really know the title in English, this is a rough tranlsation from the Swedish title)...

If we all stop talking about him he'll disappear in a couple of days - or we could all talk about him incessantly, I suppose.

Perhaps a discussion about a Prokofiev-orientated activity would get it off the neglected list?

Hello everyone,
Hobart, Sunday 15 October, 07.15. Gusty winds, frequent showers, quite heavy snow on the mountain, cool to cold with a max of 14. But there were two ducks in the garden this morning.
Just want to thank everyone for their support, it is really encouraging, although I think there is still a way to go before justice is done to Sergei. The way we are going, it is possible he might even appear on the 'busiest' list: wouldn't that be something?! Take care, take care, y'all.
Walter.
