Yes James, I seem to vaguely recall that, although Bowie would be the sheep in wolf's clothing. Thinks the wolf's music: hmm hmm hmm hmmm hmm, hmm hmmm hmm hmmm hmmmmm etc

JBTW:

Does anybody know how that most neglected list is composed? I don't really understand it anymore. There are entries with not more than 10 responses in their Forum which are not on the list, and Mr. SP with his >180 responses still is.

Why????

Most entries on the liust have a brief flurry of interest (usually because they're on the New list) then drop off. The Most Neglected is computed from the activity over, I think, the last 24 hours.

I do find it surprising that Mr P is on the list, as the constant flow of postings would appear to mitigate against; however if the system processes the active entries and takes the bottom five in activity over the last 24 hours, then the average rate must be less than the usual blast followed by nothing.

There are two ways round it:

1. cross-post every discussion forum entry to this forum smiley - winkeye

2. Everyone go quiet, and Mr P will disappear fomr the list in a short while.

Rumour has it that its done by pageviews. But its only recently had this much activity; its been in the list since July... 3 months!

Good morning everyone,

Hobart 17 October 07.55. Lovely, frosty, crisp and sunny morning, heading for a top of 16. Sergei occupying customary number five spot on the you know what.

Jeremy, that was exactly my question, and despite efforts on this forum, and others, I still don't have the answers. It may be nothing more complicated than a 'glitch', or perhaps the explanation is so complex that even when/if it is provided we/I won't understand. But in the meantime, hmmmmmmm hmmmmmm hmmm hmmmmmmmmmm etc

Hey! Maybe it counts the number of visits paid to the article itself, not the postings in this forum! Sorry, haven't checked backlog, perhaps someone already thought of that...smiley - smiley

nim the cat (STILL choking in air pollution)

Sorry to interrupt. The article, although good (why else approved) is a bit dry. Isn't there some scandal or something the relevant editor could help to be put on it? Mistresses, wife, children, more information about related movies ....

In the meantime ...

I suppose that including some of the things people can do while listening to Romeo and Julia is not what you're thinking about?

Lots of people think that Ravel's "Bolero" is a better piece for that particular purpose ... smiley - smiley

Bolero? You're supposed to maintain exactly the same rhythm for the entire thing, from beginning to end. Not very easy. Or satisfying. Especially in these tights...
