(Won't tell you my secret reciepe either)
Hiya Shea. Hope you're enjoying the trip.

Let's see, is Shea visiting in Cleveland,
home of a great symphony orchestra and
a not-so-great major-league baseball team?
Also, home of a river that used to catch on fire?
Let's see, how does that compare with you have
to offer in Detroit, Elwood? I don't recall
hearing about any burning rivers there, but I
*did* read about the near-meltdown of a nuclear
power plant in "We Almost Lost Detroit."

detroit has some cool things...
a bass pro shop comes to mind
and that great big huge bridge over the river
and the cool tunnel underneath it...
they're close to the toledo zoo (which i've heard is better than the detroit one)
come to think of it, hell is in michigan as well

I'm fine, Elly. Nice to see you again!
Hell is in michigan? Then it's worse than I thought, I'd better start being good at once...

Toledo has a zoo?
Did I ever mention that both my parents
attended the University of Toledo? That's
how they happened to meet.
So, I owe a lot to Toledo....
Michigan is an interesting state. So is
Ohio. I've been to both states a number of
times. They don't scare me. Chicago is what
scares me.

Oh, I'm just paranoid, Elly.
Chicago is almost as big as New York,
but not nearly as familiar. I could
get lost quite easily there.
Plus, Chicago's Sears Building is now
the tallest building in the U.S., I think.
(I could be wrong about this.) The terrorists
seem to be obsessed with knocking down
our very tall buildings. So, I don't want
to get anywhere near one of them.
Even Boston's Prudential Center was rumored
to be a potential target. I rarely go into
downtown Boston anymore eithere.

I loved Chicago when I was there... I reenacted the scene from Ferris Bueller's Day off at the sears tower. T'was fun, and what a rush it was. I don't see detroit's suburbs as all that bad. I like it out here.

I don't remember Ferris Bueller's Sears
Tower scene. For a minute, I was thinking
of Tom Cruise's "Risky Business" scene where
he lets his father's car slide into Lake
Michigan.
A bit of trivia: The Chicago Aquarium has
whales. I think that's about as far from the
ocean as any whales could live. (The Colorado
Aquarium has sharks.)
