I've got a new job

Mala, I didn't mean translating was a menial job. I just meant that nowadays, when many employers demand a college degree for even menial jobs, it makes it difficult for otherwise talented and intelligent people who haven't gotten a college degree for whatever reason- and raising a family would lend all sorts of training and experience that school never could.
But I will agree that Bel has mad English skills.

True. It's like they don't believe you can tie your shoe without a degree, but if you do have one, they don't hire you for being overqualified
Bel, how complicated would it be to take the TOFL or a similar exam?

English is the first language of about half the population of the UK and not many of them are much good at it!

Especially if you are English and find that you can't understand a word that anyone is saying! (In England I should add - I am quite used to understanding nothing in Benshasha!)
