hi everyone..
sal.
i remember the days when my hair wasnt so grey and it looked as if i had grey streaks. my cousin complimented me on it, thinking it was a hairdressers job
now its grey all over and i wont be dying it. it costs too much and once you start its a never ending job
i just tell everyone i have natural silver highlights
as for the phones. i only recognise them in films, i havent seen or used one of them.

hi there all.helen,i never have had a colour on my hair....even though i fully intended to for my daughters wedding two years ago.......and you are perfectly right.the girls keep telling me i am becoming obsessed with colouring it now,but it loks SSSOOOOOO bad when it starts to grow.i have had a lighter one this time ,so that it wont show as much,a little bit each time,,then eventually back to the greay i think.its too much trouble, especialy as i cant do ot myself....i dont like putting other peole to any trouble.i have a hairdresser ,but she just cuts it and blow dries it .
which reminds me....i used to have my hair permed by a neighbour when i was about tenor eleven...and it was always just round the edge.i must have looked a proper little madam to my mates.......if only they'd known,,i hated it.do you remember twink and tweeny twink home perms???

We had Toni Home Perms in the 60's.
It was disasterous to my hair!
It gave me Rosanne Rosanna Danna hair

to Sal, Smurfles & Abbi, For keepin things going One prob. we are talking about something I dont have a lot of, HAIR!
Ah! not to worry
I used to have long hair way back in thw 70s when I first got out of the R.N. I was working on a large oil construction site in the training school, teaching welders
My hair used to hang out at the back of my Cromer" (peaked cap worn back to front)to hold welding screen & hard hat. Any way one day a student was having probs lighting a large pre-heating torch (Mixture of propane & Oxygen)
Well, by the time I got to him, he lit it!!!!!!
One big flash!!!! Smudger, no hair from back of Cromer, or eye brows and lashes
Smudger. ps. one more for the book Abbi.

Hi Everyone, Im not bald Smurfles at least not yet
I know the hair stuff you mentioned, I think it was Kossack? or something like that
My favourite vynil record was "Badge" by the Cream, it was A20 on the pubs juke box where I used to work, I used to to open it and make it play 20 times, Full Volume!! OH! Happy days

i take it that we have moved off 'hair' and now on to 'vinyl records'
i still have all of mine.
about 400 singles in a suitcase. an about 100 l.p's. in a cupboard.
i also still have my cassettes(30ish). i didnt really like cassettes much as they always seem to get chewed up

Well H, Thats quite a vynil collection you have, hope you have a record player
OH! no, you can still mention hair!
Good tips to stop your tapes breaking=Play them right through, dont eject them half played, and dont rewind them (it stretches them)
Ive recorded all my favourites onto tape to play in the car, and none have broken , yet!!

hi smudger.
yes i do have a record player
its covered in dust and doesnt get used very often these days.
every now and then i have a session and play my old stuff and sing along.
my kids used to hate it
every now and then they would start singing something that was in the charts in the late 80'/early 90's and i would sing it with them. they couldnt understand how i knew the words so quickly as it was a 'new release'. it was because it had been in the chart 20 years earlier and was a cover version. they hated that as well

hi all...my mother wasnt young when she had me...she ws 33,so i was brought up with "older"songs.when we have a singsong at the home my mother lives in now i sing along with we'll meet again, and the white cliffs of dover......when my daughters sing to the songs they were brought up with i sing along with them,,,cos they were my favourites, and now i can sing along with the grandchildren, cos theyre all re-releases!!!!!!!i must admit the best place for a sing along is in the car...cos they cant hear me in the back....my voice isnt what it used to be!!!!!!!we still have some vynils left,,and lp's,but i got rid of the record player!!!

Smudger, I would quite possibly kill for badge on vynil, one of my favourite non blues songs, even though EC is really a blues man! The influence George Harrison had on it's writing is obvious, as well as his rhythmn guitar work.
I too have tried to sing, but am merely functional at best (and awful at worst) so I dont often.
Key: Complain about this post
