Hi Bill & TK, Well it seems today! got through straight away .Ah! this progress thing is great How did it send your printer mental the TK?
Must admit I lkie the new bit that tells where all the new posts are, that saves us waiting for ages to load a page, only to realise theres nothing new on it
Right then! whos got the next good memory then??

i remember the days when we only had leisure district.
these were the early days when it worked without the need for constant upgrades.
ive always thought that anything that is done in the name of progress is usually a step backwards
ok, i know it doesnt really qualify for memory lane, but i thought it would make you smile....

And why not!!!!Welcome Ye old tea shop manageress (you just have to get a smaller name)
Any way, as you know we are all having a stroll down memroy lane, so please feel free to give us your stories
Now then! I remember when I was a kid, the milk man used to have a horse and trap, funny thing was this horse just knew when to stop and start with out being told!!
We used to go outside from our cafe and feed the horse a snack Anyway it got to the stage when the horse would not move, until it had this snack Ah! happy days

thanks for the welcome, but its me.. helen
i took the opportunity of getting rid of part of my username with the updates
i was just plain old 'serenity' when on LD and i had to add something else to get into h2.
the manageress bit is to show people that there is a place to meet for a chat that doesnt have alcohol. we would rather have and and instead

hi sal.
this update is a right pig.
im getting mails from jinty complaining
you will just have to hijack hubby's pc. im sure we all understand about the problems getting in here and we will make the most of it and talk about you.
i suppose this means that i have to do even more thinking about my past to keep everyone entertained

Hello all!
In answer, the update, for a while, seemed to stop my printer and the computer talking to each other. Both knew the other was connected, just that they seemed to be having a hissy fit between them.
I'm quite enjoying the update, other than the fact that things seem to have gone quiet around here, they must be in Sal's boat or similar.
I hope it all turns out right.

Hi all. I am back from my 5 day. It was a nice family celebration and 50th anniversary for my hubbys parents.
Poor sal having troubles again?
It took me hours to get registered, I finally requested another email and it went through. I HOPE I am remembered and do not have to log out - as before. The confirming email took about 4 hours to arrive. I did not like having to give my birthday out!

Welcome Back!
It is as always good to have you back, as things seem ton quiet down without you around. I'm surprised this thread did'nt turn into a I remember abbi discussion.

hi abbi.
nice to meet you.
im afraid that sal is one of the many who rely on digiboxes to get into h2. and for some reason they dont want us digibox users to play at the moment
those of us who are lucky enough to have a pc are spending time relaying messages from everyone
MEMORY LANE...
i remember when we had to mail each other with paper and pens and it took ages for letters to get through.

computers.
my first encounter with a computer was those big box types that were bigger than filing cabinets.
they only had flashing lights were to signify the binary system.
nothing to do with actual keyboards and letter writing.
though if anyone is interested there is a place in cheshire called THE SECRET BUNKER, not far from stapely water gardens.. it used to be an early warning system for the cold war in the sixties. its worth a visit to see the computers and things that were around for the ministry of defence. it puts some of the modern stuff to shame.
