Aw, yes Jellen, we are really missing her aren't we? And i bet she is missing "us lot" too, poor love!
No way on earth can i phone her, i have crippled myself financially this month to pay the last phone bill, phoning USA is out of the question;
Hmm, the dating agency thing...if it's difficult for you to meet decent folks any other way, i'd say give it a go (obviously you will take sensible precautions when meeting up)You aren't the only person who is in a bit of an isolated situation, there could quite well be somebody out there who would love to meet someone as great as you! If nothing else, you will certainly make friends, which (in my book) can only be a good thing.
The situation i am referring to is with Himthing, i am so worried for him. His brother dying recently (at a young age, liver cancer) has really been the last straw for him. It's all very confusing 'cos "in theory" he has a "girlfriend" ie, someone he sees regularly, they go out for meals & he sometimes stays over with her....BUT both of them insist "nope, we are just good friends" She knows he sometimes stays over with me....but WE are also "just good friends" honest! But i care for him very much & he seems to care about me also. But he is just a very caring & genuinely nice person to everyone, so i try not to read too much into this.
(BUT anyone who massages my poor feet like he did last night gains many Brownie points!)
He's got similiar medical problems to me but is on anti-anxiety medication & drinks heavily on top of it, which, as he very well knows, could well lead to him ending up in the same place as his brother...but he doesn't seem to care any more. Basically he's doing the "slow suicide" trick. Not a lot i can do other than supply lots of s; & some practical stuff; short of physically removing him from his evil, depressing little bedsit & bullying him into taking care of himself. I'm not his mummy, it's not a mummy he needs, it's a wife & to have his kid back again, but i can't solve that one either.
A very sad & very very nice guy. I just wish things would get better for him.

Not sure if any of you have come across researcher Old Hairy U241325 or not, but I thought I should pass on the info (from Jimster) that he died yesterday.
I bumped into him in PR and of course via the subbing group.

Hello everyone, this is RK reporting that Terri has not chopped me into bits and added me to the splodge.
I can reconfirm that Angouleme is full of loonies and confirm that Terri's screen is indeed yellow. I would confirm that the beer is good but I don't want to state the obvious. The Gastronomade, the food fest, is tomorrow so after having gone to a vernissage in the afternoon we're putting on out best snobby French accents and loading up on the freebies.
Got myself a French phone and a bank account, and been shopping, but the phone doesn't work, I have to wait for my account and the splodge is all gone. Well, mostly. There's some left for Olivier.
I have met Mooon who is, funnily enough, crazy. You wouldn't think, in this town of all places. Also met "Himthing" at the bar last night and ended up singing loudly in Spanish at 1am. Himthing then stayed the night and was not even woken up in the morning by the cats using his face as a slalom course.
Two bottles of and some drambuie and a some beer and an indian curry (not as good as Terri's) may have had something to do with this.
