My screen has gone yellow, which apparently means i need a new one. No way can i afford one, anyway it would be madness to connect it to this ancient beast. So i will carry on until it finally dies completely, but don't think that will be long. So if i suddenly disappear, basically that's it. No way on earth can i afford a new beast, so the only hope of getting online again is internet café occasionally & maybe i can have a go on RK's when he arrives next week (gawd, if i don't have internet, even that will be difficult to sort...RK, unless you phone to say anything has changed, i will assume its still the same; arrive 16.55 on 24th)

Wish i had some way of saving the data i have on the beast, but i don't. 5 years of stuff disappearing into a yellow fog Oh well.

It's just gone back to normal, so maybe there's life in the old Beast yet! But certainly it ain't a happy creature & i need to face this fact. It seems ridiculous that a computer is considered ancient when it's 5 yrs old.

*mind you, it also seems ludicrous that a person is considered pretty ancient once they hit their 40's!*

I've been up since 5am, woken by hyperactives, they are very happy 'cos i got them lots of lovely yummies with my food vouchers yesterday! I may go back to bed for a while i think. Got people round here tomorrow night: Helen, Karen plus Karen's boyfriend is arriving with someone called Glynn, i think Karen is trying to set me up with him! "ooh, i could just see you two together!" hmm, we shall see!

Anyway, Karen is bring some veggies round, which i shall transform into...you guessed it...curry!

Ah, how sweet, Mooon is biting Yoda's neck; Yoda ain't impressed!Manic kitten, the place is littered with toys everywhere, it's like having a 2 year old human around. Yoda seems very stately by comparison...also very fat & fluffy, Mooon is very sleek & leggy.

I think it is still suffering from being dropped on its head one time when i moved....the fag ash in its bowels which i can see through the hole in the front maybe doesn't help either.

I get a yearly gas fire inspection, and the last time the man came he cleaned it out and said it was fine but needed cleaned as all the cat hairs had gone into it.

Same with my PC, when David put a CD Rom drive in my old one he said it was full of dust and cat hairs!

On Saturday my birthmum went on webcam for the first time. So I have now seen her in (almost) real life

We chatted for 3 hours until 1.30am when we were both
I have to say I thought I would be much more emotional and blub like a baby, but I didn't - just had a bit of a sniff and some 'eye leaking' but mostly it was exciting.

Next step will be a phone call, but we will do webcam for a while I think first. I hope I will be well enough to go to England in Feb/March to visit my family so will try to arrange a visit to see her then. I think we both feel that it can't come soon enough.

Can't remember if I said or not, but Paul is coming for a visit. He has bought his flight tickets (Bristol to Edinburgh - £12.99 +tax each way - bargain!) and is staying from 15th Dec to 11th Jan - well that is the plan anyway unless something happens to balls it up. So I will get to spend the festive period with someone to cuddle up to and make me on request

I can't believe it has been 2 years since I have seen him - time seems to have flown by.

Have to cut down on the fags as he hates them! Last time he was here I cut down from 20 to 5 a day which is brilliant. Purely my choice but he was a good incentive

You don't need a new screen, Terri. If you can put up with a yellow screen then no harm will come (I doubt it anyway). I can have a look at the cable when I come.

Hi everyone, I'm a as usual. I'm sorry I skipped several pages of backlog here. I had seen on other threads, Terri that your computer was on the brink(again? or was that someone else). I hope RK's right that you can still use it even with the yellow screen. You certainly don't lose the data of the screen is broke, you just don't have access to it. If you lived in this part of usa you could proabably get a used monitor from somewhere for free. I gave one away a few months ago (along with the rest of the computer) and I've been offered monitors that people I knew were trying to unload cause they were replacing them. Things like that don't turn up there, maybe?

hi all,sorry to but in,but when i spoke to abbi she said that a o l are doing some very good deals on pc's over there,$350 for a complete set up ,everything included,and the payments could be spread to suit yourself,so worked out very low monthly.She told me to tell everyone that they should watch out for the offer over here,it's too good to miss.Just thought it might be of some use to you terri.
