LOL!! So did I; but i am maybe a little brain dead, didn't wake up till 5pm; staggered downstairs to find the unmistakeable aftermath of the night before....anyway, several bin bags & washing up bowls later the evidence has gone.

Just phoned Ollie, who has also just woken up.Cat is still on answerphone, so lord knows what state she is in! At least Ollie sounded smiley - biggrin, i said "god, we were Baaad last night!" but he laughed & said "NO way! We were GOOOOD!" Eeek.

I think maybe i am making up for my teenage years when i didn't really get the chance to do this sort of thing, bit late really at 49! But apart from aching ankles (er, yes, that's Cat's fault, she insists on pogoing to just about anysmiley - musicalnote....this is the kill or Cure(!!!) method of learning to cope with dodgy legs!)i seem to be surviving. Hell, it's the last chance i am gonna get to be seriouslysmiley - silly!

I don't think it's having too bad an effect in the short term, long term survival may be decreasing though! Amir said to me last night "What i really love about you is your "life force", your vital spirit is infectious!" gawd, how on earth do you respond to stuff like this? I think maybe he means i am mad to be doing all this, i am "supposed" to be sitting quietly at home knitting slippers & watching repeats of Dixon of Dock Green (actually, i would really like to do the latter occasionally! "Evenin' All"!)

zdt*listening yet again to Nouvelle Vague, what a BRILLIANT album, go google it, apparently there's a site you can download stuff, i introduced Gary to it on MSN, he is now also addicted!)

*ahe* well, Animal, i can indeed confirm vast quantities ofsmiley - redwine did slide down our gullets it must be confessed; BUT since they are mainly frogs & i am mainly Irish, we were pretty much weaned on the stuff, so we have maybe a higher tolerance? No parked tigers, the only ill effects were I fell over whilst dancing (very graceful fall though, it almost looked deliberate)& Ollie passed out in the nightclub, as is his wont.

This is the guy who is famous for sleeping peacefully on my kitchen bench at my birthday party. On that occasion he was carefully removed into the "workroom" without him even noticing till next day. This time he was nicely snuggled up on a seat in the nightclub, the bouncer, who had previously snarled at me & Cat for putting our feet up on the seat gave up at this point. Me, being a nice kind smiley - witch just said "aww, poor little Ollie!" & muttered nice things into his uncomprehending ear. Cat, however, being a naughty Bretonsmiley - witch just tipped a glass of cold water over him & said "get up & dance, you lazy bugger!"

He responded immediately & carried on dancing.

Anyway, casualty count as of today:

Ollie, has power of speech but not internet use & has gone back to bed. *young men, i ask you, no powers of recuperation.*

Cat: has not only managed to go to the launderette BUT acquire another man, who she appeared here with, more importantly, she has also acquired (HOW does she do this???) yet another verysmiley - coolCD, which i am at present recordingsmiley - ok

Amir is still in answerphone mode.

Helen is alive & squeaking happily & cooking a meal for

Karen, who bounced in briefly to deposit bags of ancient bottles we found in her cellar, these have been carted up to the attic (er....sorry about this RK, we will sort it when you get here, promise!)

Khaled: no sign of life. But he is American & still learning. He is going to live with Karen, both seem very happy about this.(yes, i KNOW i only introduced them last night but....)

And i am squeaking as you can see & now indulging in a Bloody Mary, it seems the sensible thing to do really.

Hmm, i could get quite used to this second coming stuff.smiley - winkeye
smiley - musicalnoteteenage kickssmiley - musicalnote John Peel would approve, we raised a glass to both him & Yasser Arafat last night.

*Cat & Christophe seem to have disappeared en route to the launderette. maybe they are looking for the Sprout, who has also disappeared? All good clean fun folks.

Karen said "Terri, this is wonderful, the social life here is great, yo! Next time it's at my place, invite everyone you know!" SURELY she doesn't mean that?smiley - yikes but if she does, i imagine that includes the whole of hootoo? She's got a big house & a cellar with vintagesmiley - redwine See you there!!!

*waves & blowssmiley - kissto Terri* Bon...soir(?) Terri...well, inspired by a food/spice discussion on another thread last night I'm finally cooking a killer curry! Using coconut milk, which seems to give the chili peppers a delayed/cumulative/"slow-burn" effect.

OOOOhsmiley - drool

What are you putting in it (apart from peppers & coconut milk)?

I was talking to Khaled last night about peppers, being both American & Lebanese, he is somewhat of an expert! He was recomending habanero peppers, but we are not sure if you can get them here. It's a bit bizarre, there are several shops selling African specialities but none selling Lebanese stuff. Good thing i can make "formidable" hoummus!(not that it's difficult, as we both agreed, the main thing is not to be stingy with the garlic!)

It's very basic Terri, just chicken, potato, onion & garlic. Of course that's just the "launch pad" so to speak. Assorted veggies can be added as I'm reheating it. Just a tip you may be aware of, habaneros are also known as scotch bonnets.

Terri, I wish I was at one of your parties, I could just sit and take it all in (except for frogs), but could you please wise me up, I thought that Breton's were not frogs, but a people of their own like Brittany I think, as Karen is your friend, please don't let her get used and may I ask a personal question (part Irish) mam or dad. Also nowt wrong with crashing out, been there, done it, its what its about, but make sure they don't disturb the cats or I will call the Animal liberation front/back and sides. Us Animal's stick together, roll on next weekend then, I'm tackling a bottle of Grants Whiskey now 10.05pm Yorkshire time, England don't excist to me...have fun my friend

Hiya Animal! Watch it, some serious stuff creeping in there, time to take yer tablets!

Yes, Breton people ARE in fact "different" to your average frog, Brittany is *technically* part of france BUT they have specific cultural stuff, more Celtic than frog in many ways, own language etc. And when doing traditional dancing the ladies wear nifty hats which are handy for keeping your kitchen towel in.

Just to confuse things even more, Cat is half Italian also!

I am Irish on my dad's side.

smiley - ta for kind thoughts about Karen, i am sure she would be touched. But she is a very switched on lady & it's unlikely she will get used, more likely she does a bit of using herself if the need arises!smiley - winkeye

I bet it's gettingsmiley - brr in jazz land, also in Yorkshire, eee, bah gum, them monkeys dont alf look eunuched! It's bloody cold here, 6° outside tonight.

Hey, just got official confirmation of Roadkill's arrival here on 24th November!!!smiley - biggrinsmiley - bubbly But when Cat & Christophe took the stuff up to the attic they returned saying "you can't let the poor soul exist up there, it's bloody freezing!" So; RK, do try & bring that little heater you mentioned if poss. But once there are two of us here, i will be less stingy with the heating, it's actually pretty efficient if i use it properly, ie keep it on low continually, rather than just quick blasts to stop frozen chunks actually falling off!

Terri thanks for the info, please don't take this the wrong way, but I can't stand the french and I can't insult frogs, their animals and I would not like to inadvertingly make a joke and it be taken wrong by your friends. Yep its getting cold here to, had a whiskey half hour ago another going down after this note...I am getting worried, I've wrote a couple of replys in serious lingo, it'll pass could be after effects of me cold smiley - ermsmiley - ermsmiley - runwhisky, sweet dreams
