Spring is in the air here, too. We've got a few inches of snow since yesterday morning, and it's about -6°C.

Wolfie generally can only manage to type one sentence responses, hardly surprising, since he is almost 100% paralysed.
Still on handicap issues; today i had morning rendezvous with Social Worker, managed to make it on time. The Appeals folk have agreed to pay the hospital bill for my last emergency admission, thank goodness! Now we are trying to get them to pay for the vitamins; which around 6 separate doctors have certified are vital for my condition (otherwise i will end up like Wolfie)...my Social Worker, bless him, is going to call in here tomorrow, after they've had their Case meeting & *if* the answer is favourable, will bring me the cash, thus saving me a very long trek to the "Trésorie Publique" to cash the cheque, then pay the Pharmacy.
The trek to Social place totally wiped me out, i've slept from 2pm to 6pm; but hope that i can be OK enough in an hour or so, i really want to go to the Green party meeting, which is discussing Handicap Issues, mainly concerned with "accessiblity for all in the region, including those without cars"..a subject very close to my heart!

Fret not, JEllen, just move to France & i have organised a support system for The Limping Ones.
I actually amazed *myself* tonight; to go to a political meeting & actually contribute to a debate is not easy in your own language, to do so when tired as hell & in a foreign language...maybe makes the point i made, which ended the debate with :
"We are Not DIS abled, we are Different, Respect les differences, maybe we have more courage than the "Normals" will ever understand, maybe we all have to make allowances for disability, language, culture...but Respect the society we choose to live in. We are NOT victims. We need to take action, not to just sit there."
Erk. Bad, naughty zendevil shook up the Bourgeousie a tiny little bit: I'm looking at the bling jewellery on the people whining about "formaldehyde in furniture" & wondering how much they paid for their cosmetics, whilst a very depressed racial minority guy who summoned up the courage to come there talks about Real Discrimination, on the multiple grounds of race, colour, mental, emotional, physical, social, financial handicap...this is the Real World, before you fret about yer furniture, you have to make sure you get fed somehow. If that means staggering loads of carbon miles to buy Kiwi Fruit out of season, when you could buy blackberries grown locally & pick them yourself...that, to me is Green Issues.
Anyway, had a lovely chat later back here with a German guy who is (quelle surprise!) pretty much of a Greeny Anarchist, like me:

I am back from Florida trip, slightly tanned and happy with experienced, esp Cirque du Soleil.
I just let the potential new employers know that I would be happy to discuss employment, salary, benefits etc with them...
I apologise for the carbon load on the planet for going across the atlantic.
Normal services may now be resumed.

Hiya Milla, glad to hear the trip went well...i keep seeing you pop up & pop off again on MSN! (France plays Sweden in some sort of Internet match; the score so far is "nul points" for both!)
SS, Wolfies email, as far as i know is still the same "68" one...if that's not the one you have, email me & I will pass on the full address; i'm sure he won't mind. As to his condition worsening...well; it's not for me to say really, but certainly he's not any better, but he's hanging on in there & surrounded by beautiful young Polish carers, which probably helps his state of mind! They tend to put him to bed fairly early (!!!) so he isn't often online after around 9pm UK time, plus he has had quite a few stays in Respite care type places lately, where internet access is limited.
Grr, my Soc W*ker hasn't turned up, so i'm still none the wiser as to whether i get some financial aid...i really hate having to grovel to people, but i don't see how i can exist on 5 euros for the next week!
I have, however, made the bean chili Non Carni that i was craving. Plus recieved a funny email from Joa, the German Green, photo of a graffiti cat "Is this Yoda?"
Yoda has replied of course "Indeed, Ja, oui, i do adore seeing my Public Image scaring hoomans on the streets"

Yep, that is the e.mail address I have had since he left here. Oh dear, I hope he hasn't got worse since he was on here. Maybe he will reply sometime, I was just wondering how he was the other day.
