Ugh, people setting fires would have me fairly nervous, too.

Yes, Terri wooh, I've sucked my living and dining room blinds (dining room not as clean as I'd like, but give it time...), under the couch, the whole kitchen floor, the exhaust fan in the bathroom, and the room with this computer and Herman's litter box. All clean. It's really not that loud- I put Herman in bed, switched on the lamp, and shut the door, and when I got done and went in to check on him, he was sound asleep. smiley - laugh

Yeah. He's being very sweet tonight. Which is quite a switch from the previous two nights of hairball horking and whining galore.

Aw, he almost fell off the bed this morning, so we had a nice snuggle for almost an hour. Such a sweet little guy.

Of course I never did get back to sleep, and now he's taken over my spot! smiley - laugh

It's starting to snow here. smiley - snowball

We've got grocery shopping to do today, but otherwise nothing terribly exciting. I hope that Terri's weekend is reasonably excitement free as well. smiley - winkeye

Ye Gods, so we are!*waves*

But maybe not for long at this end; my sleep cycle seems to have gone into "let's just stay tired almost all of the time" stage...i think i may cut the tiny dose of mindzonker down even more, i can't carry on like this!

However, the local library benefits; i've read Hannibal (the sequel to Silence of the lambs) today; very good; keep picturing Anthony Hopkinssmiley - drool & Jodie Fostersmiley - drool...yes, i have managed to actually see that film more than once, but enjoy reading the smiley - book more.

I see that USA is engulfed in smiley - snowballsmiley - llabwons...i hope you are surviving? It's pretty chilly here today also, but nothing like that! With any luck, the warm early spring will have brought out the greenfly (aphids) & now the cold spell will bump them off before they start destroying my smiley - rose!

We had snow day before yesterday, but it has mostly melted, and it is beautiful, sunny, and springlike.

Sounds lovely! I hope PC hasn't been buried under snowdrifts in Chicago....isn't it weird to think Ivan in Aussieland is in midsummer now?

JEllen, what did you think about Silence of the Lambs?

Yes - technically autumn, but now in fact hotter than it was in summer. Ick.

Dark, brooding, intense, scary

...but good.

Fine acting from Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins. Didn't Jodie Foster get an Oscar out of that.

Public-holiday alternative reality. smiley - biggrin Canberra is 95 years old today. Or that is, the site was chosen and the name proclaimed in 1913... it didn't really start to be a town until 1926.

Yay Canberra. Two cheers for Canberra. Right, that's enough civic pride for one day...

Any significance in the name "Canberra" or just a mispronunciation of "can 'o beer?"

This is great, this is like the old days, when Abbi was online, and a bunch of folks would be on at once.

In the language of the Ngunnawal people of this district, it means 'meeting place'

Unfortunately there's a rumour that in another language in a different part of the continent it means 'place where women have large breasts'.

(No concern of mine, that.)
