Roos generally don't w*rk. They're quite lazy, or very clever, depending on how you look at it.

Al Ain Zoo (in United Arab emirates) had a big herd of roos; i actually fostered a baby one for a while.
What amazed me when watching them boinging around was that the male roos had enormously large testicles; their pain threshold must be weird; i would imagine the average 3 ft fence would pose a problem; let alone a !
PC: You are going to be proud of me; here's what i did today:
Got up 11am, did some laundry
Changed the tank water completely
Then completely rearanged the living room; which involved many & varied w**k, cleaning windows, hauling the last of the Dreadlock Plants around, disconnecting & reconnecting stereo systems, hoovering, mopping, scrubbing etc....
Bou helped out with the big stuff like moving TV's & enormous pots, plus gave me a back rub later......but when he arrived to find the place in utter chaos, i think he was somewhat gobsmacked; he said "No Way will you get this sorted by tonight!" But i did & he was quite surprised & gave me much
It looks so much better now; much more space & all the spaghetti cables hidden away. The 4 biggest plants (around 7ft tall) are just going to have to stay inside, no space outside for them.
Next project: sort the CD's out....& eventually the atélier! Knackerd now, i will probably have a looooong snooze, meanwhile apparently Manchester United are playing Lyons in some sort of Very Important match; thankfully my TV is unable to cope with this, so he's watching it elsewhere!
Which reminds me, JEllen, how are you getting on with the moving apartment stuff? Is your ankle OK now?

I am in fact very proud of you, Terri! Feel free to come on over to Chicago and sort out my kitchen cabinets and my junk closet.

Proud indeed! I rarely have such a productive day ...the odd(actually quite rare)afternoon here'n'there, but not usually one day.

My ankle is still rather sore -- it is healing very slowly. My ankle is stiff, and I've done some gentle exercising to try and stretch it out a little.
Embarrassingly, I still haven't unpacked any more. I need an up spell to get me going. I've been sleeping way too much, but can't seem to make myself get up.
I've just finished rereading an Unquiet Mind for bookclub. Excellent book.
Micio seems to be doing well. Must buy more cat food tomorrow.

Hmm, still sore? Then again that hairline fracture in my knee took quite awhile too...don't worry the unpacking will wait, until the ankle's better.

No. But when the warm weather comes round in a month or two, I'm going to paint my patio table decoratively.

Hmmm, actually it's a balcony. I haven't been able to use it yet -- too cold -- but that will change soon.

Same principle I suppose, when you think about it. Oh yes, it was quite nice here today - like mid-April.

Hmm....are you getting physio for that ankle? If that's impossible ($$$!) i reckon gentle stretching alernated with rest is probably still best for now; torn ligaments can take ages to heal, worse than an actual broken bone in many cases. You're quite right as to the unpacking, anything you really couldn't live without more than likely got tracked down & unpacked within the first few days!
Ooh, a balcony, how lovely...with decorated table; even lovelier! How are you thinking of decorating it?
I've been like a bear with a sore head & body today, totally overdid it yesterday: i knew i was doing so & the price i'd pay later, but when you get a "good day" i suppose you tend to try & "do it all" 'cos you never know when the next one may happen. I've had a long hot bath, a couple of rows with Nameless One who damn well phoned at 9am this morning, eaten properly & will probably return to bed shortly. The laundry can wait.
One rather thing did happen today, in my mailbox was something: i groaned, thinking "yet another bill!" but nope, it seems Angoulême now has its own Green Party, so i phoned & me/us are out tomorrow evening to meet them, discuss environmental issues & find out how i get registered to vote in Municipal Elections which are coming up (as a long term resident, i can do this, but not vote in National Elections, Nameless One can, since although he is Algerian descent, he was born here)

Been to Green party meeting; welcomed with opened arms as semi-official candidate for handicapée; vegetérian(ne) & étrangers (Crips; non carnivores & non dead animal eaters)...all i need now for extra Brownie Points is Ethnicicity; but i can't actually prove that, so they will just have to take my world for eat.

Mared! As if that wasn't excrement enough, today is Big Rugby Day.
Les Irish trashes les Scots, now it's les Frogs vs L'Anglais...if this ends up as a final between French & Irish....may the best man win (i will not be attending the wedding!)

There has not been much sign of spring over here in Essex but I did see some cherry blossom on trees, I do not think they ever have cherries grew on them.

zendevil Posted Feb 26, 2008
No, i never saw cherries here either...just the blossom; which is lovely, but very short lived. Went for a little walk in Jardin Vert today, the daffodils are now coming out, plus the crocuses just starting, but weird 'cos the crocuses are usually first... Primroses are in full bloom, but snowdrops never appeared, hyacinths are almost over, it is all very strange.
