Oh for the most part, still running XP on it.

I had the choice of xp home or vista, so I was sick of xpwish I'd have stayed sick now

When Vista was still quite new I read reviews that said if you're setting up a new system, consider it. Otherwise don't bother. (And of course I'm quite accustomed to XP now...bit of a headache settin' up a new os every couple years anyway - young pup's game that!)

apparently there's windows 7 planned for 2010

I heard that...I'm also running an os called Flock(based on Mozilla I believe) http://www.flock.com ...seems ok,.

Had also read about http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net ,like Firefox based on the Gecko engine(it's reputed to be quite fast - I feel a bit like a computer laugh&gt Just may try it...

Tsk tsk, here i am, gone for just two hours (watching Jimi Hendrix DVD (via the Black Magic Box, which Dubman seems to cart from place to place with him): bloody superb!) & there are 19 new posts from guys discussing stuff i haven't a clue about!

(But ho ho ho: i was alive & pubertal & had flowers in my hair when all that happened; poor sod was born too late!)

Well, chaps, i wish you types best of luck with Vistas & Xp's & whatevers. Personally, i seem to be continuing to limp along with Windows 98 via Mozilla, in Franglais via la poubelle & tame s.

The email side is slightly improved, after two weeks of Scan Disk & defragging daily; it is less constipated; but still i reckon there may be a Cosmic explosion once the senna pods i inserted into the USB port get working. (My Grandma always said it worked & she knew a lot did Grandma)

So are these new beasts or the same beasts but with new thingies?

This puter was given to me, it's the second one I have owned, old one is upstaires in storage you could say but ,

It's a mac and neither one has ever crashed, what does crash mean ? stop working go bang ping or whatever
I have never had any bad E Mails other than facebook keeps bothering me ,so I just don't understand ,sorry Prof but why buy garbage and set up like old garbage again , sounds to me like you enjoy these problems.
I'm on safari, thought it was firefox but just checked and safari came up without having to sign in so that 's where I must be.

My Beast is two years old, I run XP and use Firefox and have never had a problem running, opening, downloading or uploading anything. The only things I've had to upgrade were to a faster graphics card to handle a couple of K's 3-D games, and a heavier duty DVD burner, after burning two out within the first two months.

My Beast is XP too and I also use Mozilla Firefox, before installing firefox I could not use the internet properly as my settings were too high which I could not change myself due to some problems. But since using Mozilla Firefox I can go use the internet without any problem. I also use ccleaner and I also have a non microsoft defrag tool which I use as well as the normal defrag tool.
