Yo, everyone!
I've been keeping pretty busy at the office so I've been posting sporadically- it's tax season and we're having our annual audit done, so I haven't been able to goof off as much as usual. Imagine that!
Been reading up on all the backlog- hope everyone's doing well and having a nice weekend?
Terri, I'm putting together a few more odds and ends, and then I'll have a little parcel for you. Tossed in some bits I hope you can use for craft-type purposes.

We Have fish!!!!!!!
They are:
Nelson, a very cool black dude, who drifts around & is Top Dog & knows it.
Sean, who is very Oirish & Orange, but has no political issues, but is an opportunist & Always know when dinner is served.
Chairman Mao, who is bigger than the rest, thus deludes himself into thinking he controls the system. Far from it!
And*sigh* of course, to balance the sexual politics, we have:
Sharon. With a T. Charentaise. Blonde, very Blonde.
*Dub says "it s only a fish poisson"
Yoda is enjoying & resenting her Meals on Wheels Live video entertainment.

How exciting!
Do they live in an aquarium, with bubbles and everything, or do they live in a fishbowl? What kind(s) of fish?
Way .

Cold water fish, in a fairly big tank, with weed, stones, shells, hiding places etc; they seem happy enough. I place the big Bible & big French dico on top in case Yoda fancies a midnight snack.
we shall see who survives the night.....

Sounds lovely.
I still have my old aquarium kit out on the back porch, gathering dust. Within the next couple of months, my dad's hauling some of my stuff up from Florida for me, so I'll be chucking the aquarium out into the alley in hopes that someone takes it home and it doesn't wind up in a landfill.
I can't wait to hear which fish survive and which become cat snacks.

I used to have a HUGE tank at a previous apartment- I lived on the ground floor there, and we had an enormous, 250-gallon tank. It was so nice to shut off all the lights except for the ones in the tank at night, and just sit and watch the fish swimming and listening to the little bubbles.
I'd like to get an angelfish or a betta in a very small, tabletop tank, sometime soon, maybe.

I used to have 2 250 gallon tanks one for babies the other as a show tank, plus 3 100 ltr tanks for breeding Discus which was a very interesting thing to do especially when sitting 8 mtrs away and watching the spawning through binoculars. Plus many smaller tanks .Even now I have 5 tanks and 2 small ponds. Can only do pics via E Mail .

*realises that it's two 250 gal, and three 100 liter, not 2250 gal, 3100 liter tanks... *
Nice seeing you again Moonraker!

The nearest thing to was a terapin that my sister kept in the 70's. It was very sweet, like a tiny turtle. It was long before the Ninja Mutant turtles craze.

*Waves to Anold; good to see you here again. That sounds like a lot of hard work! How big are there ?
Thinker, yes, i kept tirtles also, bought them when they wer teeny-weeny, about an inch across; they very rapidly develeoped into gigantic things the size of dinner plates! kept buying bigger & bigger tanks, then they started doing breeding behaviour, so had to rig up a sand & gravel bank for them to lay eggs in, plus monitor the temperature very closely (apparently, the gended of turthels is determined by the temperature they are incubated at; it's all rather complicated!)
How big did your turtles (terrapins i guess techically: Red Eared Sliders) get to be Thinker?
These are common or garden goldfish, cold water, though of course i have tried to be Politically Correct & have one of each colour!
Yoda is even as we squeak, staring with great fascination at les poissons....but she has been told firmly that she can "look but not touch"!
Don't trust her Home Alone with them, so a Big Gustave Doré Bible gets placed on top of the tank if i'm not around!
*Awww....i've been given a ....!!!! A lovely little book, thor is Christone Orban. Title of the book in French is "Petites phrases pour traverser la vie en cas de tempĂȘte....et par beau temps aussi"
The closest translation we can come up with is "A little book of sayings for getting through life's bad, stormy times... but also for the good times"
We've been out tonight to a local restaurant, but arrived too late to eat (they are fully booked)so we just had a drink instead & Dubman persuaded the to sell him half a dead cow to cook back here...he is definitely a carnivore, ce'st la vie, has hs own pans to do his thing. Compromis! Shared social lfe... Trust...eek... &
stuff....someone stop us please!

Discus get to about tea plate size7"dia and the young feed on the parents slime on the body for about a month after that they are big enough to eat brine shrimp,at about 3 mths they maybe will start on frozen or live blood worm bought at the pet store ,it's hard to keep the water in good condition with the babies so small .

Terri They were two of them in a square tank in my sister's bedroom. I think they were got around 1976 but they sadly did not last long. They were very small and I do not think that they got any bigger.

Hello Terri and everybody! Hope y'all are still well.
If I have my botanic garden one day, I'd love to have a huge pond stocked with indigenous fish and perhaps a terrapin or two! We have lots of different water turtle species here. I also would have tortoises! Friends of ours have tortoises roaming in the garden. They seem to be doing very well. I love tortles and turtoises!
Good luck with the phrench frases Terri!

Pardon for all the typoos in my last post; combination of being *very* tired & trying to distract cat from whilst being distracted by a human. Very trying.
But i think the latter part of the problem is sorted now....i don't think either of us are ready for any "heavy" type relationship thing right now.
Eeek, baby turtles feeding on parental slime?...i suppose it's logical really though & eco-friendly too!
Yoda is still fascinated by the ; unfortunately Nelson died this morning, but "C'est la vie" with fishy things:::: i had a gut feeling he wasn't just "laid back" but on his last fins, just as i know when my own
is sick. But other people refuse to believe it until the proof is there; never mind, "beaucoup d'autre poissons dans la mer" etc.
I'm quite relieved actually, i just felt although some aspects re-awoke stuff i hadn't felt for a long time, other aspects activated my radar...

Hi Anold!
Please don't send pics yet (that goes for all of you!) or any sort of 'Fwd' type thing, the Beast is slowly but hopefully surely getting there, but still not up to capacity on email function, i have a backlog of spam; i can only delete 20 mails at a time (268 to go today before it gave up!)
If by "The man" you mean Wolfie, i was on MSN with him earler today, he's waiting for a new super-dooper wheelchair with gizmos & gadgets. He's got a fleet of wonderful Polish female carers who set his pulses racing & the cats are doing well. He'd probably appreciate an email i reckon.
So: Valentine's day today. Who is sending to whom? Who recieved what from whom? Who is boy(girl?!)cotting Hallmark et al? Lonely Hearts Club members, post below, we will paaaarty instead!
Love to you all!

my reputation is still intact - new PC, only a week and half old and vista goes and totally crashes me out - due to it could not digest something. After a few hours of and trying to get in to the computer system, I had to reinstall vista - I hate Vista and XP
