Journal Entries
Hi. I'm new here...

Hullo y'all.
Recently, my activity has drooped and drooped until I was a scout, UG editor, ACE and community member in theory and in title only. However, a combination of events have left me with quite a lot of time on my hands for the forseeable future. I'm going to try to put a lot of that into h2g2, because something I discovered about this site a long time ago is that what you get out of it is directly related to what you put into it.
I also hope to make some changes. I'm going to make an effort to help the content of entries in PR instead of nitpicks at the stylistic, spelling and grammar issues. I experimented with this on a few entries this afternoon, and it's not nearly as difficult as I imagined. I'm going to try to help out the CAC-C more often for The Post. And of course, try to help the UG and AWW grow.
As I'm trying to help the UG out more, I might as well say that we're always looking for new miners and polishers to help find and process the great <./>RF5</.> gems of the future. Let me know if you're interested.
In the next few months, the HHGG movie will be released, and up to and after the film's debut, we'll see a surge in our numbers. The first half of this year will probably be one of the busiest in h2g2's history, and I intend to be here in strength for it

Jodan Update

"I'm writing this article leaning against some nameless architectural mistake, and I am not writing the article on a Mac. I would, but my PowerBook is fresh out of power (funny notion, to name the thing after its only major shortcoming; it's rather like Greenland in that respect)"
-From the Salmon of Doubt
I got a new PowerBook, replacing my old, but trusty, iBook. I can indeed confirm that the major weakness of this otherwise great machine is power. In the time it took for me to find that above quote, 5 or 6 of the battery's percentage points evaporated. I also have a wireless connection, and it seems likely that between these two things, I'll see a greater activity here on h2g2.
According to C88 and the <./>ComingUp</.> page, it appear that Ohio is poised to take its rightful place as the second-most written about US state. When two of my Ohio entries go on the front page, it will overtake California and when another two appear (and they are on the way) it will tie New York.

...I forgot my second h2g2 birthday, about three days ago
Doesn't feel like two years. Feels like a lifetime and a half. They've also been the two busiest years of my life, thanks in no small part to y'all eating up most of my afternoons.
I haven't been as active around here as I once was, because the EG is disappointing me lately, but I know I'll always have h2g2, and (barring a BBC error of judgement or an enormous change of life for me) h2g2 will always have me.

Someone told me today that my part of Ohio is in a subtropical climate. Sounds like it would be warm, doesn't it? Yeah. Well, the weather is hovering around 4 degrees F around here. In southern Ohio, mind you.
This is the time of year when seeing southerners in coats larger than mine in 64 degree weather really cracks me up
Merry Christmas and Holidays and generally have a nice winter, everyone.

This Month in Jodan.

Gee, that last journal entry predicting the Cards would win is a bit embarassing now.
However, I was very correct in my prediction "I imagine after November I'll have enough material for a 'The Presidential Electoral Importance of Ohio, USA' entry."
Now, the reason for my latest journal entry.
See the little eyeballs to the left of 'Jodan' on your screens? They should have glasses on them. That's right. I am now a Glassed American. I rather think they make me look smart, but more importantly, I can see
Oh, and while I'm writing a journal entry for a trivial reason, A1092539 Volunteer to be a Miner. A1092575 Volunteer to be a Gem Polisher. Do it
(I realize that most of the people who have me on their Friends lists are already in the UG, but I certainly feel more proactive as an editor when I do these sort of things)

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
