Vacation.

Before I say anything else, 
.
I won't be leaving h2g2 again for a vacation. I saw how you all conducted yourselves in my absence in California, so that won't happen again.
I'm just taking a month or two vacation from editing the UnderGuide, and I'll probably weasle my way out of the rest of my jobs for a month or two too.

One an ACE...

I resigned my ACEhood about two months ago, for, looking back on it, a rather feeble reason.
So I return to the duty today, with new vim, vivacity and vigor. The newbie list certainly has fallen into a state of disrepair with the absence of myself and, more importantly, the legendary and fantastic Mort.
Who knows? Maybe I'll be returning to the scouthood soon. 
The gurus? Nah. I never really knew why I had that badge anyway.

Amazing how you can master h2g2 in a matter of months, meet the community, write entries, ask questions, give answers - and you can still be surprised by it after years Why else would we have regulars from way back in 1999?
Incredible that h2g2's been around five years, eh? I look forward to celebrating h2g2's sixth birthday next year... and I'm firmly convinced I'll still be here.
Downright amazing.

Back from California - land of sparkly sidewalks and falling surfers.
Satisfactory trip.
I suspect two entries will come from this trip... hopefully.
Anyway, I shall return to my former glory on this site soon. Once the Jetlag wears out...

California here I come...

Until now, I've been content to consider a vacation to California singing a mangled version of the lyrics to James Taylor's 
'Carolina in my Mind'.
However, on Sunday I depart at 6:00 AM (
) towards the Golden State. Specifically, San Francisco.
It'll be interesting, but don't expect anything from me from this Sunday to the Sunday after it. I might get online when I'm there, but I wouldn't count on it.
So all of you take care of each other. Don't let h2g2 descend into a fit of chaos and corruption while I'm gone. 
- avoiding 'Terminator' jokes.
