"I'm writing this article leaning against some nameless architectural mistake, and I am not writing the article on a Mac. I would, but my PowerBook is fresh out of power (funny notion, to name the thing after its only major shortcoming; it's rather like Greenland in that respect)"
-From the Salmon of Doubt
I got a new PowerBook, replacing my old, but trusty, iBook. I can indeed confirm that the major weakness of this otherwise great machine is power. In the time it took for me to find that above quote, 5 or 6 of the battery's percentage points evaporated. I also have a wireless connection, and it seems likely that between these two things, I'll see a greater activity here on h2g2.
According to C88 and the ComingUp page, it appear that Ohio is poised to take its rightful place as the second-most written about US state. When two of my Ohio entries go on the front page, it will overtake California and when another two appear (and they are on the way) it will tie New York.

I should have known you would find a way to work Ohio into your post.
So, how long before Ohio is Number 1?
Jodan Update
J Posted Mar 12, 2005
Ohio doesn't stand a chance of being number one. That is, unless a few dozen Ohioans with a lot of spare time join h2g2 soon.
I'm happy with being number two when becoming number one is an insurmountable task . Besides, I have to afford some respect to Jimi X.

Never say never. You're young and inventive. Where there's a will ......
I have been up to my eyeballs all week in idiots. And today had been totally frustrating. I'll have to work all day tomorrow as a result.

*hangs head in shame*
The Isle of White is the most written about English County, and I have contributed a grand total of entries on places.

That would be the work of another great one - Bluebottle.
Sometimes when I feel I've written all that can be said about Ohio, I look at C546 and I regain hope

Take heart. There will always be something else to write about Ohio. It won't necessarily be anything any of us will want to read, though.

Since I lived in Texas for 20 years, I may start writing an occassional Texas article. No point in doing Missouri.

No point in doing Missouri?
All kinds of great things to be said for Missouri, and I hardly have the time to say them all myself

Hypatia Posted Mar 13, 2005
Bro, I was yanking his chain. He is intent on staying ahead of Texas in the count.
And there are so many extraordinary things about Missouri that he couldn't possibly compete and it would make him cranky.

True.
Texas has it's share of positive attributes as well. I think a few more of them have just landed in PR.

I'm not worried about Texas. Even with a writing speed-demon like H behind it.
Ohio had more entries than Missouri, even before I came along. Coincidence? No. Point to Ohio.

You have never known me, Mr. Ohio, when I was unfettered by building projects and seriously ill people to have to take care of. I may be a faster writer than you realize.

J Posted Mar 13, 2005
A write-off, perhaps. See who can write five entries about their state and get them through PR the fastest?
Nah, I'll save you the embarassment.
