I think the schools near me are experimenting with spliting the 6 week holiday, into two three weeks, but I could have heard that wrong, I get things wrong sometimes, it's not unusual.

My sons school (he's left now) changed the school hours, cut out dinner break and finished at 2.45pm I didn't like that at all, instead of dinner, just snacked during short breaks.

We have a German girl staying with us for a year and they tend not to hase lunch at school. I think the children go home at 1.30 or 2 o'clock. Saves the expense of a canteen, dinner ladies (I mean 'persons'), less teacher duties.

We were having this discussion in the Science Staffroom yesterday. Apparently, a lot of the worst behaviour kicks off during and after lunch, and so it would save this from happening. On the other hand, I like a more relaxed, less intense day. A break at lunchtime enables us to chat, prepare leisurely for the afternoon lessons etc etc (Quite important for Science teaching where you need time to organise resources.

Also, I'm a believer in holistic education and children need time, space ands an adequate diet in order to learn most effectively.

My brains had it, I'm off to bed. Gonna get told off for being late again, oooppppsss time just flies on here, one minute it's around 11.30 next, it's after 1am

Ah, talking of PS you asked about mine BigAl, but I missed seeing that at the time. I've been making changes to it recently. Discovered an Entry 'Front Page Archive' - U230056 where I could 'nick' small versions of graphics I liked the earlier one are round, not keen on them, but the later ones are square, I like them.

I looked through loads of graphics when I was looking for one for 'Keepers Home Page' - A441596 I wanted something that 'said' Keeper. that one did it for me. I found that graphic on 'Talking Point' - A568721 loads of Entries that have graphics on, and I don;t think some of them are in Picture Libary, I don't remember seeing some of them before.

Disgraced myself at schol again today. Pupils have a 'thing' about hair and were asking me where I got my hair cut.

I told them that a pretty girl comes to the house and cuts it for us; whereupon they asked, "Doen't Mrs RBA get a bit jealous".

I replied, "No because she does the whole family at once", whereopon there was a collective lecherous, "Wey heeeyyyy" from the class.

So I said, "Sometimes she even cuts our hair". (Much ensued!)
