I thought I was replying to post #400
Hi BigAl, how are you?
I've been trying to find a cheap bra to wear for just one special day, but as it looks like I'll have to go to one of the large size (expensive) shops, I might not bother, not worth the cost for a few hours of wear.
(I can imagine me going into the toilet, stripping off, removing the bra and chucking it in the nearest bin, as soon as we get to the reception, so maybe buying one is not a good idea at all )

D'you think, after all these years, that your partner would mind if you just carried on as per usual?
Alternatively, you could try A450587

Nah, he's not bothered at all, it's me, though I don't think the plastic bag version would hold my 's weight
I'm not wearing a traditional bride's dress, but I would like a bit more shape than a lilac sack of potatoes.
So, today (Thursday 7th April 2011) I purchased a bra (and now know that my bra size is 44 DD), it remains to be seen how long I'll actually leave it on for .
You didn't say how you were BigAl, how's things on the job front?

Hi Emmily,
Job front is a bit dire. I have two afternoon's work/week lecturing at Wiltshire College. This is the age range and level that I want to be teaching at, but doesn't pay the mortgage. Hence I have to do supply teaching in addition. However, the Wilts College work precludes me from being able to offer myself for supply for 5 days/week - which is what most schools want. So, I'm dependent on day-day supply. This week I've only had 3/4 of a day o Monday and a full day yesterday. I'm awaiting a phone call now but am not optimistic at this late hour (0800).
Another thing that's happened is that several schools have negotiated a capped raste with my agency so that instead of getting £120/day, I only get £100.
Yet another thing that's happened is that, since the 'Teacvhers' Work Load Agreement', schools have recruited 'Cover Supervisors' - non-qualified teaching staff who go from one teacherless class to another, babysitting them, rather than hire supply teachers.
One one occasion, my agency sent me to a school as a Cover Supervisor, rather than as a teacher, so I was paid at half my normal daily rate. One of the classes was a ear 10 maths class wqho (a) were keen to learn and (b) needed considerable help. Being a professional, I helped them. But really, I should have 'worked to rule' and took the atitude that I wasn't being paid for teaching 'em

... the worst thing is that such schools proudly boast that 'We don't employ supply teachers'. No, because they use Cover Supervisors instead - but Joe Public doesn't realize this!

Hi BigAl, sorry for the delay in replying, I've been a bit busy
I've had my big day now, and everything can get back to normal, whatever normal is
Not much change since your last journal entry then, I do read you journals, though I don't always have something to say.
As for my bra, I wore it for the day, didn't really notice I was wearing it, but I'm back to being happily bra free now
