Pheloxi pointed out that GMT and BST aren't quite the same - I have no idea, myself... but it gives us time to decorate while we wait.
Happy Birthday AR1!

Yes, BST is the equivelent of daylight savings, and GMT is like standard... So we've been an hour off...

Oh, AR1!
I missed your birthday bash! I had computer problems and I've been off-line since Thursday evening. I've only just sorted it out. I thought the server was down - I couldn't get any sort of connection - and here's my Blues Brothers outfit - unworn .
Happy Birthday for yesterday
I hope you had a lovely time. I'll catch up with the backlog later.
Happy Birthday AR1!
MaggyW Posted May 24, 2003
My goodness! What a time I've been having I got my wings and have spent the last 24 hours flying people around the planets and taking them to visit their favourite gods and goddesses .
I _think_ it was AR1 who wanted to visit Venus (I'm so sorry AR1 I can't quite remember which adventure it was we had together - it was all so exciting!) and it may have been her who fell into the whirlpool of giggles and couldn't stop wobbling and shaking with joy for an hour and a half.
I took Marie Antoinette to find her head - which had gone off with a handsome General somewhere I fenced with a Hindu God with my horn
I played with a beagle and gave it some food and brought a Bagpuss a pretty shiny pearl necklace and pulled a cracker (actually I pulled quite a few of those!) and had fun with lots and lots of wonderful people.
And as far as I can see (though I'm still a little drunk on ambrosia) it's all still going on over there to the left. I think I'll have to go home for a little rest though .
THANK YOU AR1 for the best party I've ever, ever been to. If it's still running later, I'll be back.
Happy Birthday AR1!

Opens one eye, closes it again. Opens both. Peels melted choc drop off cheek and gives it to the beagle.

Imogen Posted May 29, 2003
O my oh my oh my. Are we the only ones conscious?
What happened to AR1? Is she okay?
Happy Birthday AR1!
Lady Scott Posted May 29, 2003
Yes, she's fine... She did another journal entry describing her real life birthday celebration. Sounds like it was a wonderful day!
Happy Birthday AR1!
Imogen Posted May 29, 2003
Oh heck, I guess I'll have to try and find that. I'm not very comfortable on this site being a 360-er.
But thanks for letting me know!
Did you go to the virtual party? I was a DNA molecule. Man did I get to see some sights
Happy Birthday AR1!
Lady Scott Posted May 29, 2003
The virtual party starts here:

AR1 wasn't able to be there right at that time, but we provided an *unusual* party for her.
Pheloxi was kind enough to construct a rose garden next to the party area for relaxing and refreshments:

Thank you my dear Lady Scott for helping me out.
I was really in no condition to do anything by the time my real life friends left me. I had been drinking since noon and was feeling no pain. Just a wonderful feeling of wellbeing, and how lucky I was to have such wonderful friends and how marvelllous all my parties had been. My real-life friends were totally confused when I told them all about you wonderful people and could not understand what I was talking about.
"But where are you having the party?" they kept asking me.
I replied that it was on Luchers golf course in Derbyshire next to a forest with real wolves. They were even more bemused!
When I told them that one of my presents had been a ride on a motor bike pillion they looked at me as if I had lost my mind - which I probably did !!
Anyway thank you for everything, and I assure you that if your daughter wants to look me up I shall not behave in such a cavalier fashion!!. Amy Paw. has both my address and my telephone number
Your looked gorgeous as Ms. America and I just loved your crown.!!
Fond

One of my best birthday presents was an introductory half hour flying lesson? Would you like one, AR1?
Happy Birthday AR1!
Lady Scott Posted May 31, 2003
AR1 - That's always the kind of reaction we all seem to get from people who aren't on h2g2. If you hootoo, no explanation is necessary, and if you don't, no explanation will suffice, it seems.
We *do* have fun here though - virtually doing all kinds of things that we could never do in real life - and there's just no limit to our adventures here other than our own imaginations!
Amy+ and Clive have made all kinds of plans for her visit to your fair Isle, including attending the meet-up. Will you be able to attend? I don't know if they would have another time to visit or not, but I will tell her of your kind invitation.
Happy Birthday AR1!

Virtual Life and Real Life are interesting
when they intersect. I've met a few H2G2
researchers in two get-togethers--one in
Manhattan and one in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
The nice thing about that is that when I read
people's posts, I can imagine the expressions
on their faces as they were posting.
