But I'll bet they can do the Chicken Dance.
The Chicken Dance is universal. It is probably even performed on Alpha Centauri Alpha...

Nah. T Rexes are wolpertingers...Mark Twain said so...
As the rabbi said, 'It's chickens all the way...'
Or, as one says in Yiddish, 'I need that oyfn kapores.' (=for a chicken sacrifice, meaning not at all.)

What if the turtles get upset at being displaced by chickens?

Which puts me in mind of the legendary flock of chickens living on an island isolated by the freeway system in so. CA. ... I remember seeing them myself on the way to watch the roller derby tournaments in person back in 1957 and have seen more recent reports of them this century (2002).
Back in the middle 20th century people used to buy fresh hatched chicks by the flat of 144, each in its own little cardboard partitioned egg-crate compartment. I'd surmise that someone picked up a flat at a local post office, loaded it aboard the back of a pickup truck, went zooming off down the freeway, only to have it blown off by a sudden gust wind into a location so intimidating even Caltrans prefers to let the chickens be.

Well, my own belly is remarkably resistant to efforts to make it more diminutive. I've succeeded somewhat, but it won't recede beyond a certain point, and I'm reluctant to try starvation.

I have exactly the same problem. I'm not eating any more than I used to, in fact less. But since I no longer go for walks with my dogs twice a day it is hard to burn the extra calories. It's not fair is it?

I've just been listening to Leonard Bersntein's opera "Candide," in which the main character has been brought up to believe that all is for the best in this best of all possible worlds.
So, you are gaining weight for some benign reason, even if you don't yet know what it is. I personally think that teenagers are naturally thin because the muscular parts of their bodies have not fully developed yet. When you're in your thirties and forties, you have your full set of muscles, and you need to make full use of them in order to do the hard work that is expected of you. Teenagers may be faster and have quicker reflexes, but they also seem to need frequent naps. This can be a problem for teenage mothers, but their older sisters and mothers and aunts would ideally be close at hand to give them a break now and then. Plus, before the advent of TV dinners and washing machines, most women were expected to spend long hours in the kitchen kneading bread dough, or the laundry wringing clothes dry and hanging them on the clothesline. All of these things take strength and heft. The only women who didn't need extra heft were the upper class ones who had servants to do it for them. Thus began the idea that adult women who were thin must be ipepr class.
