Michele - Doily Mogul: Don't leave me! If you go there'll be no braincells in the room at all!

Last time I was in Chicago, I went to this wonderful steakhouse (forget the name now) and they had a whole menu made up entirely of martinis! smiley - smiley

So I of course picked the "banana split" martini. It had Lady Godiva smiley - choc in it, some banana stuff, ice cream, strawberry stuff, lots of booze and a big cherry on top! smiley - ok Well, needless to say, after two I floated back to the hotel (or maybe I did cartwheels... I don't really remember smiley - blush)

smiley - biggrin

I think it was the cartwheels... I seem to remember a story about some wanton woman with her skirt up around her ears giggling madly on her way back to her hote....

Horrid idea my dear Batty to call those new fangled drinks "Martinis"

As you say, very dry gin with the dry Martini gently wafted over it the one and only one.!!
Why don't they just call the other concotions something else. I am sure that they might quite easily be very good, but they are not the real McCoy!!.

Oooh! thank you so much for my special martoonie. I really enjoyed it and remembered so many happy days!!. So beautifully served and presented. I particularly liked the cut glass martinit glass. It frosts up so beautifully.

Affectionately

True those drinks aren't overly martinilike - other than the glass. But my guess is it's the only way those bars can make money since the real thing is an acquired taste - mostly by those of us who prefer our cocktails with a little meanness in them. smiley - winkeye

Lurcher

The last time I saw someone`s smiley - bleeps on fire was when a well enebriated friend (is there any other sort?) accidentally sat on a barbeque.
The A&E dept at the local hospital were most helpful...when they stopped laughing.
