Got a dictionary? I want to know the meaning of life.
Welcome . I am the unknowable me. And before those of you around me who are die-hard DNA fans rip into me for my stupidity in the title of this page, I do realise that the meaning is 42. But what is the deeper meaning?
The meaning of life is meaningless, unless we know both the question and how to apply the whole thing to the way that we live. We don't even know what the question is, and we sure as hell don't know how to apply the knowledge. And so we turn to the all knowing dictionary...
Where we find that the meaning of life is:
(1) The condition that distinguishes animals and plants from inorganic matter, including the capacity for growth, reproduction, functional activity and continual change preceeding death.
(2) The existence of an individual human being or animals.
(3) The period between the birth and death of a living thing, especially a human being.
Now we know both the question and the meaning. Therefore, we can now apply this knowledge to how we live. And yet we don't now to do this, therefore the lot is still meaningless. Will we ever understand how to apply the knowledge that we have been gifted? I think not. Because machine language is the work of god. The rest is the work of man, and the knowledge is probably encoded in machine language somewhere. And we do not know the language of God, and so we can never truly understand it.
Anyway, I will digress from the theological and philosophical debate for now to let you know a little bit about me. Ok, in Real Life I'm a 15-year old human male from a small village north-west of London named Chalfont St. Giles. On here.... I am myself. And not much else. If that scares some of you... Then I apologise. But there you go.
A short note on my name. One, Thamian is pronounced Thay-mi-an. Two, Thanaris is my first name, Thamian my second and Meridian my third. However, I am generally known as Thamian.
Some of you who will view this will know the person behind the words, and yet not. So don't worry. Just get to know me all over again.
I am also part of a number of societies here on h2g2, and the badges of some of them are listed below:
