Good questions. I for one like to believe/hope that man is born with the ability to reason and control himself, i.e. do what he does not want to do sometimes. Therefore I do have faith in a certain authority and stability in this complex world in which we dwell and die

Yeah but I do have one problem with that philosophy.

Why not just trust and hope for the best? I don't believe a person can live without ever trusting anybody.

I'm not saying that we can't trust anyone at all.
What I'm saying is whether or not we can trust the authority which somehow governs our lives.
