First Kiss?
Bassman - Funny how people never ceases to amaze me! Posted Nov 25, 2000
Sorry, I tend to use the word Guys without an intended bias to gender. Would you prefer Guys and Gals?
First Kiss?
ringo (it's not all right) Posted Nov 25, 2000
Hehe, see Bassman, we non-native-english-speaking guys (in your meaning of the word are still learning
saturday night is to arrive and i'm feeling fine and relaxed i onnly have one problem:
I cannot decide if 'scooby snacks' by the Fun Loving Criminals or 'yesterdays men' by Madness should be my song for tonight.
That's the kind of problem i really like
First Kiss?
You can call me TC Posted Nov 26, 2000
"Guys" is very American, ringo.
In England we would say, if talking to a mixed bunch: "You lot", or "Folks"
Although I expect guys is infiltrating slowly, too.
In my part of the world, "Kerle" also means females and males.
First Kiss?
ringo (it's not all right) Posted Nov 26, 2000
in my part of the world, "Kerle" is definitely dedicated to the male sex - and we are not living that far apart, do we
so which song to choose for today?
song for guy? - i prefer not to do so
ok. today i go for a traditional one:
Bob Dylans' 'it aint me, Babe'
btw, could anyone be so kind to explain me the use of the possesice s's and the apostrophe?
i know i learned it in school several times but never managed to keep it in mind and to use it properly

Posessive "S".
Siggi Posted Nov 29, 2000
Well, folks or guys, to say it with my song for today is called
"Sometimes I feel like screaming" by Deep Purple.
With no deeper correlation to its lyrics, but it's title definitely fits!
Posessive "S".
You can call me TC Posted Nov 29, 2000
Yoooohoo Siggi is back.
I have a song which is really an anthem. A masterpiece. Unfortunately, I've only just remembered it now the weather's bucked up:
November Rain. G&R
Posessive "S".
ringo (it's not all right) Posted Nov 29, 2000
tanks Bassman,
i think i've got now the use of the possesive s but what on earth is IMHO ??
Anyway, TC you reminded me of something, a great tune of my younger days; G&R's 'i used to love her'
the best song you can imagine when you've just split up with your (now) former girl friend, hehe
Posessive "S".
You can call me TC Posted Nov 29, 2000
In My Humble Opinion.
http://www.h2g2.com/A292367 will help you further.
Anything by G&R, come to that.

When I was out getting a few provisions to see me through the night shift, the supermarket was playing "Dance Away" by Roxy Music on their tannoy. Great song.
Now for all you anoraks out there, Bryan Ferry was one of only two artists whos' record sales went down after appearing on Live Aid - anybody know who the other was - I'll put you all out of your misery, if noboby gets it in a week or so!!

Ottox Posted Nov 30, 2000
Oooh Roxy! I was going to suggest them two days ago, but then I never came to the thread...
My song today is another (happier) dance song (not dance music! ):
Another Irving Berlin melody, Cheek To Cheek, sung by Billie Holiday.
* hmmm... wonders who the Live Aid artist could be... *

How about Alison Moyet's "That Old Devil" ... I wish I could sing like that. Or, better still, like Patricia Kaas.
Ne soyez pas si jaloux, Mademoiselle boit du rouge, Mademoiselle chante le Blues
I went to a Brian Ferry concert last year. It was very very good. Especially the harpist.

ringo (it's not all right) Posted Dec 1, 2000
I'm not too much in French music, but there are too bands I really like...
first is Air ('Kelly watch the stars') and the other is
Les Ritas Mitsoukou (hope i spelled it right) --> 'c'est comme ci come ca' (i know i forgot the accents but i don't know how to do them)or 'dancing in the bathroom'
I have no idea who was the second unsuccessful selling artist after Live aid...
maybe Phil Collins because he could not recover from his jetlag...
or the surviving rest of Led Zep - their performance wasn't too good and they played with Phil Collins at the drums
song for friday night is 36 D (so what?) by the beautiful south

Hi everybody,
how is it going?
Yesterday we had splendid Spring weather here in my RL: about 15 Cent. - quite crazy or December in Europe, no?
My song for today 'Black velvet' by Alanah Miles
Black Velvet
Bassman - Funny how people never ceases to amaze me! Posted Dec 3, 2000
Now there's a fine tune - great vid as well!
My tune for the weekend has been "Wishing Well" by Free.
Played it on Friday night at a gig, hadn't done so for 4 years. Forgot there was a key change at the end though!! Never mind it all hung together O.K. The guy that requested it was chuffed - as were the rest of the crowd. 4 Encores - not bad!!
Black Velvet
ringo (it's not all right) Posted Dec 4, 2000
that's a very intimate audience
but the best concerts i was have been like this
what about 'intimate secrets' by Dalbello for today?
