Wow! Those are good one, TC
Especially your Wednesday song - I'm melting, when I hear it. Oh, and once again 'Without you', methinks it could turned out to be the most popular song here - mentioned 3 or 4 times
As for Anastacia: you're absolutely right! Methinks, we will hear much more from her, as for she is really original with her music, no?

saturday night, just came home, what might be the song?
'Strong' by Robbie Williams
there's one line i always have to laugh when i hear it...
..."when I'm drunk i dance like me dad..."
Bassman, i feel the same about Dire Straits, most of the stuff i do not care too much but 'sultans of swing is great and the song i like most is 'water of love'
Song Exorcist Required
Neugen Amoeba Posted Dec 17, 2000
Perhaps not the song of the day, but it's been stuck in my head all day anyways.
Rhinestone Cowboy, by I'm-not-sure-who.
I need a song exorcist!

Neugen Amoeba Posted Dec 17, 2000
Here's another one that gets stuck in my head around Christmas:
Feliz Navidad, Feliz Navidad,
Feliz Navidad
Prospero ano y felicidad.
Repeat about 100 times and you get the basic idea!?!?

I think I've drunk too much. I can't remember that awful country singer's name either. It's on the tip of my tongue. Perhaps I'll wake up at 3 am and post it. Didn't he also sing "Galveston, Galveston, I was twenty-one, when I left Galveston"?
I've just realised that Extreme could fill a week with favourite songs for me. And I only know the one CD! Little Jack Horny and Decadence Dance - always play them full volume.
and talking of words of songs, Bossel has been at it again. He has dug up a whole load of sites with Mondegreens - I can't stop laughing. Start, for example, here: http://www.h2g2.com/A249842

Bassman - Funny how people never ceases to amaze me! Posted Dec 17, 2000
If you're in the Christmas mood - it's gotta be "Merry Xmas Everybody" by Slade. The best Christmas song Ever Ever Ever!!
My song for today is the title track from the Red Hot Chili Peppers most recent CD "Californication" It's one of those songs where you fill your lungs to bursting point and join in every chorus
The teenage bride with the baby inside, gets high on information,
Buy me a star on the boulevard, it's Californication.

Neugen Amoeba Posted Dec 18, 2000
I've found the lyrics to the whole (Rhinestone, Cowboy) song. Not that's any help.
The same singer also may have sung Silverstone,....now I'm thinking Willie Nelson, but somehow that don't seem right.

In the Christmas Mood *NOT*
Ottox Posted Dec 18, 2000
Glen Campbell?
And a bit of backlog:
I *wouldn't* like to hear both the very American Wilde (Curtis) and the very British Sinclair (Moore) talk German in "The Persuaders" No no no!!! But Iben Hjejle speaks Danish quite good - of course she does, being a Dane
I'm to tired to find a song for myself. You have already mentioned so many good songs this week, I'll choose one of them...

Solsbury Hill - there's the proof!
Kasia,
I remember hearing Solsbury Hill on the radio and liking it, not knowing the connection to Genesis. I think it was before hearing Follow You Follow Me. I didn't get into Genesis until 1980 - they were the first band I ever went and saw - the Lycum Ballroom May 1980. You just never forget the first time do you? I've still got the ticket stub and the program!
T.C.
Sir Duke - what a great song. Have you ever heard Stevie Ray Vaughn's version of "Superstition"?
Wow Stevie Wonder
You can call me TC Posted Dec 19, 2000
No, but SR Vaughn is my hero (He still would be if he was alive). I haven't managed to collect many records yet. Have a couple of vinyls and a few songs on Blues Sampler CD's. Will take a closer look next time I'm buying records.

ringo (it's not all right) Posted Dec 19, 2000
Hello everyone
just had to think of a song i like, especially the title:
'There's a tear in my beer' by Hank Williams (or The The if you want)
van you think of more song titles that are great even if you have not heard them, yet like 'the Greeks don't want no freaks' or 'window-shopping for blind' ?

You can call me TC Posted Dec 19, 2000
OK Solsbury it is. It's just that PG is so terribly English, I would have thought he was singing about Salisbury.
And as for Glen Campbell. That's it - on the tip of my tongue. And what happens today? I pick up a Christmas CD and there are TWO songs by Glen Campbell on it. O boy, the things we put up with in the name of Christmas.
There are some weird song names about, ringo, sometimes you don't even think of them any more. Like "A Twist in my Sobriety".

Ottox Posted Dec 19, 2000
By coincidence the first foreign band I remember to have seen was also Genesis-related... Eric Clapton with Phil Collins at the Roskilde Festival '86 (not sure if it *was* the first band, though. First "real" rock concert was 'Rock for Afrika' - the Danish version of Live Aid - 21.09.85)
I still have all tickets and programs I ever got...
Collecting, collecting, collecting!!!
Bad Christmas records too!
