Bassman - Funny how people never ceases to amaze me!

Trillian's Childd & Kasia,

Sorry Ladies, I just hate that song. The Slade and Wizard songs fill me with the happiness of the season - when I hear them on the radio or TV then I'll turn it up, if I hear the Lennon I'll turn it off!

Ringo,

I quite like the Jona Louis, although it simply isn't in the same league as the Slade and Wizard. The Frankies song was just any old pap with a Christmassy video bolted on - they admitted that themselves.

...Bassman, of course it's not the same league as Slade or Wizard smiley - tongueout

and you're right about 'the power of Love'
nevertheless i always feel like crying when I hear this song and think of Holly Johnson smiley - cry

But let's think of something more enjoyable, what about 'All tomorrow's Parties' (the Velvet Underground) - my song for today

and don't say something nasty 'bout my colleague John, otherwise I have to think about Slade's 'My oh My' smiley - winkeye

I bet there's loads of chaps that shed a tear for Holly Johnson - but not for the same reason!!

My song for the day is "Inside" by Stiltskin.

Awesome song, I just knew it was going to be a big hit the first time I heard it. I got a loan of the CD last night from our guitarist - I'll have to give it a good listening to.

no reason's bad to shed a tear for Holly Johnson smiley - biggrin

but coming to something more modern, my song for today is 'overload' by the sugababes.
It's an old truth that the best songs are mostly simple ones.

the Sugababes (sugarbabes are something different smiley - smiley) are three English girls with a simple beat that goes straight in your brains (and your feet) - very simple, very straight, but quite effective

and i don't think i've missed your comment about Holly Johnson smiley - tongueout

song for tonight shall be 'Jesus in a camper van' by Robbie Williams smiley - smiley

I'll post for a week again, just to be lazy.

At this sentimental time of year I shall get my sob-stories out:

1.Leningrad by Billy Joel
2-The Two of Us - Will Smith
3-Every beat of my heart - Rod Stewart (I think I've already had that but never mind)
(these first 3 records guaranteed to make me cry every time)
4. Silent Night - Boyz 2 Men
5. Candle in the Wind - EJ
6. Day in the Life - Beatles
7. Grandad - Clive Dunn

Really sloppy stuff I would (in most cases) be ashamed to be caught listening to, but who cares, it's Christmas/New Year

Sorry to gatecrash and all that...

Can't do sentimental today I'm afraid, but my song of the moment has to be Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd. Bit of a downer I know, but it's so damn good...

Leftover smiley - xmaspud to you all.
