h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I'm in Manchester for a Family event on Friday 12th April.

Thought I'd spend a couple of days visiting and wondered if there were any takers for a Manchester mini-meet on Wednesday April 10th and/or Thursday April 11th?

Ideally at The Font, as used for the 2012 Meet. I also anticipate re-visiting MOSI on the Thursday as I didn't get to see much last year.

I'm trying to get a work trip up there, but it's unlikely I'll be able to pick a date easily. If I'm there I'll come along

Great! I missed the last one due to an ill-timed hangover, so I'll set aside as much time as it takes for this. Midweek, eh? I'll have to keep it moderate, then.

I'll assess closer to the time, if I can afford the trip (as I recall the train from Cambridge 'oop norf' are ridiculously pricey)

But it would be great to reconnect with all my old h2g2 friends again.

Case in point, I just checked putting in a fantasy date in April 11/12

Getting to, no problem £19

But to get back the next day on the same line was£69!!just for the return! (and that was the cheapest!!)




I had an idea though, and tried a different route, and then then price dropped to £18.

So put me down as a possible as soon as we have the date set.

Clive, cheapest overnight train fare from Cambridge at the moment is £41.

I think I can certainly make both, would be rather rude of me not to entertain a fellow researcher on my home turf as it were.

Would probably be best though to aim for a "main" night though too.
