Four from Mrs swl
This above all: to thine own chimp be true.
The langur doth protest too much, methinks.
Capuchins, Marmosets, Tamarins, lend me your ears.
Good gibbon, gibbon! Pygmy is such sweet sorrow.

Nice tune Rudy.
Very mellow.
And fun.
And it had the decency not to mention throwing feces,
just bananas, at each other.

"A few million virtual monkeys are close to re-creating the complete works of Shakespeare by randomly mashing keys on virtual typewriters.
A running total of how well they are doing shows that the re-creation is 99.990% complete.
The first single work to be completed was the poem A Lover's Complaint."

Is it just me, or is that a complete waste of computing power, when there are genomes to be cracked, stars to be counted, cancers to be cured and an infinite number of other things to deal with?

Dang it, Bea, I was hoping that you could persuade people to get these hundreds of chimps out of my cellar. Have you any idea of the electric needed, or the daily shovellings?

Ah but Icy, if you read further down the report it says:
"Also in 2003, Paignton Zoo carried out a practical test by putting a keyboard connected to a PC into the cage of six H2G2 Researchers. After a month the Researchers had produced six thousand pages arguing about gods, 3 thousand pages arguing about moderation issues, five hundred pages about bondage ponies & nighthoover, five pages of the letter "S" and had broken the keyboard."
