Where did you last eat out?

TRiG (Ireland) A dog, so bade in office

A rather pleasant place in Galway I forget the name of, with two cute boys on the staff. Being in a vegetarian mood, I had a risotto. It was good. Tasty. And filling. And reasonably priced.

I was in Galway on Friday for a dental checkup from my hygenist.

clzoomer- a bit woobly

Twenty minutes ago at my local. Wit beer and very nice steak and mushroom pie with a stout gravy (onions and carrots as well).

Delish but once again I note that *pies* have some places become a good stew with a puff pastry top slapped on top.

smiley - cheers

Summer and wheat beer go together something fierce.

Breakfast on Friday morning at http://www.thegreenmanpub.co.nz/ - we have a tradition at work of meeting on Fridays for breakfast at one of a number of hostelries that do a $7 breakfast.

Jimmy Spices in Birmingham on Thursday night:

http://www.jimmyspices.co.uk/broad_street.php

Indian, Chinese, Thai, Italian, even a Mongolian BBQ counter. It's an all-you-can-eat buffet and the food was lovely. There was even a great range of salads, including a tomato & avocado salad which really hit the spot after I'd tried a couple of the hotter starters (I'm a wimp when it comes to spicy food!). Lovely dessert choices too, including a Mr Whippy ice cream machine. All for £14.99.

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

Cambridge blue, pub, last night, circa 7 PM, chilli with rice... quite spicey for a pub version, plenty of food, a little overpriced maybe, but it had decent meat in it.... smiley - zen and, the night before, Chinese buffet, next to my front door. ate too much. loverly. really loverly. cheap. major dehydration the next day though.
Attempted to find a take away open when we came back from the pub last night... apparently we'd left it too late as it was 6 AM by the time we found ourselves back in town smiley - dohsmiley - hotdogsmiley - burger

A friend of ours went to the Jimmy Spice in Solihull a few days ago. They really enjoyed it too.

Thai Restaurant Kom San in Frankfurt, with TC and Z.

www.komsan-frankfurt.de/ (copy and paste, mods would remove link to German website)

They catered for vegetarians, too, so we were all fine. Main dish, beer (TC and Z) or coconut water (me), plus cup of smiley - coffee afterwards for less than €15. Good service (they even had a bill of fare in Englis, which the waitress offered the moment she heard us talk in English. Good value for not too much money.

A wee South Indian place called The Banana Leaf, near Glasgow Maternity Hospital Extremely basic - a couple of formica tables and Coke served warm in polystyrene cups, but *excellent* food. I asked the guy behind the counter to choose for me.

Tried to eat in Sloans on Friday, allegedly Glasgows oldest restaurant. Turned out they werent serving food. because...they were staging an opera smiley - weird Since they only told me this when I asked for the menu but after theyd poured a drink I didnt feel obliged to pay for it.

Tommy's Restaurant, Greek and Canadian ideas, for my wife's 50th birthday. They never, ever disappoint with quality and quantity. And the price is quite manageable

And now I have a craving for a kind of Japanese Yorkshire pudding thingy filled with sweetened red beans that they used to sell at Camden Lock, oooh, mumblemumble years ago.

Not to mention the halloumi, olive and rosemary bread from the Cypriot bakers nearby.

Went to a Harvester this evening. Specifically, it was the Wych Wyn Inn at Droitwich.

We've been there before.

Ate at the Maccheroni restaurant in Mönchengladbach (Kapuzinerplatz) with smiley - chef and Gruesome #1, they were on their way back from the pictures and I was just on my way home from w**k.

I had Carpaccio because I wasn't hungry (having been out for lunch*) they had some spaghetti with an oil and pine nut dressing with Rocket leaves and cherry tomatoes stirred through it. Both reported it as being very tasty. With that and 3 waters and 3 coffees it came to a reasonable EUR 44.

* Korean lunch at the restaurant Wassermühle in Willich. I had... oh I've forgotten what it's called but I had a shredded beef and glass noodle soup, which was lovely and spicy. And massive amounts of kimchee as usual.

Pizza at Zizzi in Gandy Street, Exeter, with my daughter. I used my tastecard so it was half price.

Gandy Street is fascinating, and very appropriate, as she took me to see Harry Potter afterwards. Pizza is pizza really, especially in a chain, so my link is to the street, not the restaurant.

Queen's Spice, a rather uninspired Indian in South Queensferry which has reasonable service and an unexciting vegetarian menu.
