Wetherspoons in Lisburn (Tuesday Bell)
It's a good solid menu with plenty of choice and great value for money.
I was pleased to note that they had identified a number of "under 500 calories" meals, so went for the Superfood salad with grilled chicken.
There was planty of chicken, and it was lovely and moist. The salad contained spinach (yum!) edemamame beans and pomegranate seeds (adventurous!) and fine beans and squash (raw. which was odd)

The N'ards Wetherspoons is awful for food. I went there the other week, and the meat-eaters got charcoal, and the vegetarians got, well, iceburg lettuce, basically. Somebody remarked that we should have brought Pot Noodles with us.

I ate at Taz (SE1). It was a frazzled day and the atmosphere was cool and calm. The staff were attentive and the food fantastic. There was a large selection of vegetarian hot and cold mezze and a good selection of caserole type dishes. We also enjoyed turkish coffee, wine and reiki. It was reasonably priced for London (£20 a head but we ate and drank too much). Somehow I didn't quite like it.

The last time I ate out is in about thirty minutes time, so this will only make sense if read in more than half an hours time... It'll be a hot pastey from the bakery... and we will eat it 'out', as in 'out in the street' Not been to a resturant in ages now, as I'd likely go to an Indian, I can't see the point anymore since my Indian cooking really took off properly

I love this thread, 'cos I love food.
But could I please ask people to post links to these lovely (or not so lovely) places?
Reading menus is my second-favourite thing to do on the internet.

I used to work at a Wetherspoons.
Don't eat at a Wetherspoons.
That is all.

They used to do a halfway-decent chicken vindaloo on curry&pint nights.

I like the idea of a pasty wall.
We took tea at the British Midlans Institute. The staff seemed delightfully alarmed to have customers and we ate cucumber sandwiches with the crusts cut off. The waitresses wore black dresses and frilly white aprons but I can't remember what that look is called...

We told the girls working behind the counter in the bakery about 'our Cornish Pastey wall', they said they had noticed we always go to the same point to eat our pasteys and found it quite amusing... especially when we said the wall should have a plaque on it, declairing it as the 'pastey wall'
I also realised, that not only do we stand in pretty-much the same place, I stand in exactly the same place; AS there is a loose paving slab on the ground, by the wall, and I always end up standing on that slab Creatures of habbit... no way honnest

I ate at Milan in Birmingham. I had taken a friend out to cheer her up. It wasn’t very successful, she cried throughout the meal and I was unsure of the protocol- is it polite to continue eating?
This curry house is normally slightly overpriced and pretentious but they do a lunchtime buffet for £4.95. I had Dahl Vada as a starter which amused me greatly as I assumed it to be Darth’s wholefood obsessed relative. I also had a chickpea salad and greens beans with coconut. My friend had a great variety of chicken including chicken tikka pizza which I don’t think contributed to the tears.

Due to it being my Birfday a couple of weeks back I've had both sides of the family down and we've eat here...
Casa Nova in Cardiff - wonderful wonderful wonderful - and not too expensive. Why on earth do I *ever* go to the pub for dinner
http://www.casanovaonlinestore.com/
Madeira - this was the main meal really - not too bad at all but didn't really live up to its billing as top in Cardiff on tripadvisor (yeah I know it's not the best way of judging 'em). A damn fine steak was had. I resisted the nagging thoughts of having piri piri chicken to compare it to Nando's
Maderia Cardiff

Speaking of which -

Well - it's Nando's. I quite like it but it is formulaic and I really should eventually try something other than their thermonuclear strength sauce (which isn't really all that thermonuclear in my opinion)
Went for a walk up the river in Llandaff, Cardiff on Sunday and ended up here http://www.maltsterscardiff.com/
This was a pretty rough pub last time I went - boy has that changed.
Very nice Sunday dinner indeed . Only problem was, we'd been to Madeira the night before and only really wanted a sandwich - no chance. Not really an extensive menu.

Never set foot in a Nandos, and I have no intention of doing so.

It's really not bad, you know. I eat there mostly to fulfil my spice cravings, but it's a good reliable bit of chicken.

I am about to eat out very soon. I placed my order for a lunchtime burger and chips with the pub while I'm waiting for it to turn up. While I wait I'll post here and continue my drink.

I last ate out at The Porter vegetarian pub in Bath http://www.theporter.co.uk/ I used the toilet first, which led me to hope that the kitchen was a whole lot cleaner. Wumbeevil would've been proud.

Prawn sunomono followed by a nice war wonton at my mixed up Asian favourite place. I love the sunomono and usually drink up the vinegar/lemon liquid after I eat the noodles, prawns and seaweed.
Yum.

I ate at Swadesh in Manchester. It's a good city centre Indian so I eat here a lot. It's really big, very modern and usually empty so despite the efforts of the management it has the ambiance of an airport lounge. I live in fear of setting fire to one of the drapes with one of the candles.
The food is really good southern Indian with lots of vegetarian options. I had a cucumber salad and paneer shashlik.

I've heard good things about Swadesh, but never visited. Then again, I've never been to the Curry Mile either.
