DRT, your post was absolutely wonderful! It was like a ray of sunshine on a cloudy, drizzly day. I hope to be able to get to know you better on this site in the future.

DRT, you seem to be exactly why we are trying to win the bid. There are a lot of people who like to come over and just read and watch, and we need to make sure that h2g2 stays a place where they feel they can do that.
Thank you for reminding us all of that.
And as Icy says, welcome to the dark side and yes, it is just a joke

So when it comes to bidding for h2g2, do we know what kind of amount would be needed? Are we talking 4 or 5 digits?

Only the IC knows that Xanatic, and they can't say because of confidentiality clauses in the bidding process. They did come up with a proposal for funding the site should we win the bid. Some of that is confidential and some of it is in the c2 pages.

You'd hope so.
It really is messing with my head. At least the idiots organising the selling of the London 2012 have the decency to contact you once a month about what's supposedly going on.
I'm finding it incredibly difficult...and it's affecting my relationships with people here. But I'm a nutjob..so that's to be expected.
They obviously don't give a flying...
They got my Licence fee last month. ing ****ers.

rushes to the traditions thread....
Not Being Told
nah, I don't think I want to record that tradition. That one can be binned.

The correct form of words is
"a tradition, or an old charter, or something."

Lanzababy - Guide Editor Posted Jun 20, 2011
I think a charter implies written traditions. These are things that just happen, and then repeat until they are part of the fabric.
