Enjoy yourself, make time for your partner and vice versa.

Describing what you are going though as a nightmare is being to kind. As someone who went though a similar experience, it's more like being in the lowest pit of hell and being beat upon by every demon there until your little one is home and safe.

As the Dad of a 9-week preme born weighing 2lbs 11oz (now a completely healthy, happy 4 year old) my heart goes out to you. You and all of your family are in my and my wife's prayers.

You´ve really been going through hell Tigerlily. I can´t say anything but that all my sympathy goes out to you, and I hope it will all end well. Imagine, some years from now little Harry will have no memory of all these horrible things.

Congratulations, I'm glad Harry is doing so well. He must be a very brave child to have coped with it all.

I can sympathise with your experience; when I went into labour 17 weeks early with my first baby I didn't recognise that it was labour for several hours. It is a nightmare, and makes it difficult to cope with what follows. I'm glad you've had a happy ending after all that.

I found it helped to keep a diary of my experience, which I've put online if you'd like to read it: you might find that you are too close to the event but afterwards I found it helped to read of other people's experiences.

Somehow I missed the description of what happened first time round and I'm glad I cam e back to the thread and found out the truth. There do seem to be a lot of premature births these days - friends of mind had one last week, not quite as serious as yours, TL.

You may or may not have named Harry after Harry Potter, but look at the parallels - he was also saved from death as a baby by the love of his parents and went on to have a brilliant career. The good conditions during the pregnancy probably gave him the foundation on which to build a strong will to live and some physical strength to survive the ordeal. Our thoughts are with you, and we look forward to welcoming Harry as a researcher in a few years' time - another parallell with Harry Potter - everyone wiill know who he is when he comes!

Prayers, thoughts, hugs, love and light to all three of you. As Abi says, it does put all the other stuff into perspective.

Last I heard (Yesterday) everythings groovy and Ol' Harry will be off home in a few weeks.

I've only just stumbled into this thread, for which I am sorry not to have discovered it earlier; it was only yesterday that I wondered how Tigerlily was doing, and now I have my answer. I'm glad that things appear to have turned out nicely in the end, and I'm sure that the bright future will make the grim bits of the past seem a lot less grim.

Many many congratulations, and I hope this posting finds everyone happy and well.

PS The only UCH anecdote I can remember being told about is that my middle name (Felix) comes from the night when I was born, when my father looked out of a window and saw a black and white cat sat there looking back at him. Thus, Felix I was.

I am afraid I have only just found this thread and realised what Tigerlily has been through (although I did enquire about her on another thread). I was so sorry to hear of the terrible time you, 'Mr. Tigerlily' and baby Harry have had, but am delighted that little Harry is now on the road to recovery. As I have said before, there is something very special about babies who have fought to hard to stay in this world - so you have a very special little boy.

I've been waiting with bated breath...having been there, I know what you were feeling.
I gave birth to my first child at 27 weeks gestation, he weighed 4lbs. Unfortunately he was stillborn.
I wish you all the love & luck in the world & hope & pray Harry continues to gain strength and grows up to be a fine, healthy boy.

CCat, I was nearly called Eugene as well, as my parents had a real "Our Mutual Friend" thing going on at the time.
